Or is everything watched TV programming and sports on your laptop computer screen

I don't watch much TV because most of the channels bring some kind of violent series which don't interest me and the largest part of the other remaining channels are basically crap and uninteresting programs.
When I watch TV, then they are educational and nature shows and very seldom any movies at all because today's film industry has lost its touch and movies are either propaganda movies or crime/murder stories.
When I take the time to watch TV and that there is actually something worth watching, then it is the regular TV. I do not own a flat screen TV because the time spent behind the screen does not justify the high investment for such a TV.
I do not watch any TV on my notebook and neither do I watch any channels that broadcast movies such as Y*****e or other streaming services. My notebook is solely used for school and I don't download any programs on it that are not education related.
I used to love watching TV and sat hours in front of it since I was a kid. But as i grew up I started using the PC more and discovered YouTube, animes, Netflix and so on. Now, I only watch sports on the TV
Thank you for MHO Tiger 🐯 🧸
i don't watch tv anymore. if there are shows I want to watch then I just look for them online.
that said, I do like to download a movie and have my friends come over so we all watch it on the tv together.
other than that, my flatmate likes to watch the news so when we sit around in the living room I sometimes "watch" (or rather "look") the news as well, but its very rarely.
Sometimes I do, when there's a sporting event or some classic movie like Home Alone, but most of the time I'm on my laptop watching YouTube videos or Netflix shows
You're welcome 😊
Thank you for MHO 😊

The big screen tv either in my room or in living room with family and friends, I hardly ever watch it on my laptop
Thanks
I don't have a huge place. It is just an apartment. There is decent space though. I have a big couch and couple of recliners. One really doesn't have a good view of the tv, but I do have space for friends to hang out and watch TV. While I'm not much into football, it's a big thing where I live so lots of friends come over. I do watch but it is a good time to socialize. They guys enjoy it. So, I voted for the second option. I rarely watch on my computer or phone unless I am traveling. Great question!
Can’t imagine why I’d want to watch something on my phone, tablet or laptop. When I have a big screen available.
Sometimes I watch on one of my desktop screens. But that’s just sort of watching while working on something else.
The only time I’ve used a phone or tablet is for air travel or waiting at the hospital.
My 55” is going on 13 years now. I’m considering one of those 75” 4K OLED models. Those look spectacular. I just can’t get myself to toss a working and decent TV.
We don’t own a tv. Haven’t had one for over 10-20 years.
muse laptop for work…a little research. Phone to go on gag sometimes…other than that…I’m out and about without devices…I enjoy human connections with families and friends.
it’s been working out and not planning to make any changes … so have no idea what on tv …seems like I didn’t miss anything.
Oh thanks for coming in but remember you can have a lot of family experiences and connections in front of the TV as well and have a big nice lovely dinner while you’re watching TV. I’m not saying to do it all the time to spend your whole entire day I’m talking about in your free time in the evening or at night, depending how late you stay up all of you
That’s exact reason why we don’t want TV. We had a 50 inches because my ex mother in law made us. Hints…ex.
We eat dinner in the formal dining table and discuss us…. our days, our health, school, work, finances, travel, meal plans…we have a lot to discuss/plan daily…
We don’t want tv (social) influence.
When we have companies, we talk about each other. We really really discourage tv influence.
We play pool, basketball, piano, guitar, go hiking, cook, have a drink, play with my sisters new baby. The baby is not allow to use any devices.
So yeah…we are proud to be wired 😆
I see…we eat dinner between 6-7:30. After that, we go out for a walk, do some work/study, shower…, bed time is at 10pm…. if anything extra…would be half an hour or so…we discuss finances, news, our next travel plans…i we really haven’t had any day time to watch tv…its on laptop…
My daughter might play 1/2 hour game online…
My husband…watch some dirt bike events…or attend dirt bike events.
So we are not normal?
Agree. That’s exactly what I don’t want. TV brain washes our brain.
We are much better without one. 😊
I love it!! I am very proud of not owning a TV. That have brought my family to a level unlike others.
My ex mother in-law demanded that we get one otherwise she won’t babysit…so got it for about a year… then divorce lol
See how that went…she was in our marriage too much.
I don't even own a tv. But I also live on a smaller yacht and don't have space for it. But TV has never been big in my life, I owned one once for a few years, and the other time it was my ex who had the TV in her home when I moved in.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/Ma4VZ7rxGOwI take it replying 8 minutes after I did, you didn't watch the 10 minute video. If you choose to, you may understand the relevance to watching TV.
ok, just that you watch tv like the young man uses the spirit in the video, and it wastes your life observing instead of taking action and improving your own life, you watch others. It's pretty much why I don't bother watching sports. It's like why do I want to watch other people enjoying life and playing a game, when I could spend that exact same time playing the game myself? maybe on a rare occasion it's great to see someone skilled do something you love to do, but so many people watch sports that cannot and do not even play themselves.
I don't think many ambitious people spend a lot of time watching tv. They don't have time for it, for one, because their days are filled with achieving.
I'm not asking you to explain or defend yourself, but I am curious if:
1. you are still paying at the highest level
2. When you were playing at the highest level you were watching more or less TV than you do now.
I think the question about how much time I spend on the computer is pertinent and I would say too much, and that most of the time I spend on the computer (like here on gag) is wasted time, that could be better spent improving myself. So my opinion about that is in alignment with the video I posted as well.
You've got me. I've lost the concentration needed for a movie and now get bored easy. I'm addicted to youtube dopamine hits. A lap top is better for going from one video to another in short succession. There are only a few channels that I will watch complete videos from and they are 5 to 10 minutes. Only one that I watch the full 50-60 minutes of.
I watch everything on my TV.
I use a google chromecast, where I have to cast what I want to watch directly from my phone. Every once in a while something I want to watch doesn’t have the capability to cast to my TV. If it’s something I’m dying to watch then I’ll watch it right on my phone or computer. But most of the time, if I can’t get it on my tv then it turns me off from watching
I still watch it like that but since I have a smart TV, there is a fair amount of online viewing.
I watch the news through the standard TV aerial, sports if it is on free to air, one TV show which is on once a week if I'm not busy and the rest is sport or the odd movie through online services.
I have a very large, very nice TV in my media room upstairs and I watch TV there. Laying stretched out on a very comfortable couch. This doesn't happen all that often because I'm usually working but I do enjoy the luxury of just simply relaxing and watching some good TV if I can find any.
It'd be a shame if we wasted our humongous home theater system.
Our friends & family love coming over to watch whatever is trending.
"Far better than the cinemas!" is what they all say.
Heck I just put in a new picture tube in this 1990s RCA

I don't like the new televisions, the old ones don't spy on you
Yep. Back in my country when my family visited we often watched TV not so much as for the sake of watching TV but rather as bonding, just to be there and and enjoy each other’s presence.
I get something on my laptop and then wirelessly put it on my 65 inch smart TV screen from my laptop. Nicer than a 14 inch screen of the laptop.
Galaxy Tablet. I've been trying to get through the same movie for four days, and I keep pausing it to do other things. If I had a fancy TV like that, I doubt I'd turn it on.
Yep got my Blu-ray and a solid 200 movie collection, I do watch things on the laptop but I normally hdmi it to the telly
I don't really watch much TV but if I do, yes, it's in the family room, on the couch with a favorite throw. 🙂
The only things my wife and I watch on our large-screen TV are movies. We choose not to have a TV signal or watch "programming".
I only watch traditional TV if there's a movie or special (like the animated Christmas ones) I want to see.
Yeah, who doesn't?
You're welcome lol
We watch movies on our big-screen in the living room... YouTube video's on the smaller laptop screen.
Sometimes we watch TV as a family, sometimes I watch it alone on my computer, tablet or phone, so it varies.
Yes, I watch all the old shows, Leave it to Beaver, Dick Van Dyke, Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock, etc.
We don't have cable anymore but we still watch movies and shows we like on the tv
I watch on the living room TV. Very little beats an 80" TV.
I hsve a 55 inch in my living room and a 70 inch in my family room. I use them both.
I mostly watch youtube. I have Netflix and hulu I am mooching off of someone else. Anything else I want to watch there is a way to find it on the internet. I also have an antenna in case I want local news or the oldie channels.
Thanks for coming in but I’m a TV guy out in the living room. I like to have friends and family come over and watch the Super Bowl and my Miami Dolphins 🐬 🏈 Plus main event boxing 🥊 matches and all kinds of TV programs and just enjoy myself. I’m not really the type of guy that likes to sit in the bedroom on a little tiny laptop or an 8 inch tablet to watch my shows. It would be weird to invite a group of people over to watch the Super Bowl on an 8 inch tablet in the bedroom lol. And everybody sitting in the same bed eating that doesn’t work. I’m just not a bedroom type of guy
İ have television in living room but i use not living room usually i watch series in pc also i watch NBA , i all watch PC
Yeah we h have a big tv in the living room 😊
Unless I’m doing something private, the bigger screen is obviously the way to go.
In the living room with friends on the big screen.
Yes I do. For a long time I wasn't doing it, but changed my mind.
My family hasn't sat in front of the TV like that in years. I didn't think we ever will again tbh
On the TV mostly.
I haven't had t. v. in over 2 years.
I don't exactly miss it. I HAVE two huge flat screens and several smaller B&W's, I just don't get more than one or two channels, neither of which I wanna watch!! I'm much to intelligent to waste my time watching CNN!! A lot of the jokes they tell aren't even funny!! And, I'm not at ALL into religion for the same reason!
Anyway, thanks for the well-wishes on that.
I stream on my TV via PS5.
Usually TV is watched by one person at a time.
yes, with family
Mostly documentaries or sport.
I don't watch TV anymore.
I wish I had that kind of time 😢.
i love watching tv with my sis and mom
Thank you for your nice comment 💓
🙏🙏🙏
🙂🙂.
Yes, I do. ☺️
I still carry nostalgic feelings from the past. We used to wait for our favorite cartoons or shows at a specific time, because there was no on-demand streaming. If you missed it, you simply missed it. There were no rewinds, no YouTube, and no endless scrolling, just scheduled programs and anticipation. Even though technology has changed everything, I still miss that feeling of waiting, watching, and enjoying TV as a real event rather than something instant and unlimited. And in the evenings, I watch TV my favourite show. It still gives me a feeling of comfort and nostalgia, reminding me of those simpler times when watching television felt like a shared and meaningful moment.
And when you wanna watch a big event on TV, who wants to watch it on the cell phone or a little tiny laptop with a party of seven people coming over. You want to have your big screen in the living room and have dinner and sit on the couch and have the whole group together and enjoying the event like the Super Bowl and other things
Exactly! Watching TV is one of my favourite things, especially in the evenings. I like intellectual shows that make me think and learn something new. Sometimes I enjoy fun talk shows, comedy programs, or reality shows that don’t require too much thinking but still keep me engaged.
TV shows about animals are awesome. You can learn about animal behavior, survival skills, and ecosystems that you would never see in everyday life.
These kinds of shows make me feel connected to nature and help me understand how diverse and fascinating the animal world is.
Yes, definitely. And no matter my age, I rarely, maybe at weekends, I find some cartoons to watch too. It makes my day more vibrant. I’m not really into animations or things like that, but there are days when I really enjoy them. Not the robotic ones, but the natural cartoons that feel more like real life, as if they are inspired by everyday experiences.
I have a favourite cartoon series called "Three Cats" , but it is on a Russian channel. I also love Teletubbies; it has always been one of my favourites.
I will try to find it on YouTube. I used to watch it on Russian tv channel in their own language. But will search for it on YouTube as well. If it is available, will copy and paste the link
Yes, yes, I can. It is a foreign language for me, but I know it very well.
Thanks. It is not an easy language. But when you learn it at early ages, it becomes earlier.
I haven't watched TV for years
Both.
Yes, I do!
not any more
Not really
Thanks for like!
