What is a good, simple printer to buy?

I'd like to get a simple printer, with maybe a fax machine on it, for my laptop (Macbook Air). Can I use any printer for this? In your opinion and experience, what si a good one to get? Nothing too fancy please. I just need a home one.

I ordered a HP inkjet printer. I just needed something easy and quick to install. I won't be using it for much but I need it to print out some sheets.

Well, I tried to set the printer up on my laptop. I've been trying since this morning. So many people on the reviews said the set up was very easy; I guess I got the wrong printer, because I have followed everything it said. as far as set up goes, and nothing. I am able to print pages from the top copier, but from my own laptop, no. It won't print the files I need for class. So much for this new printer.

Ah... got it to work. I unplugged it uninstalled it on the laptop, and started all over. I found that I had to do something first on my phone before it could work. It's working. The only thing it does NOT do still, is print out files from my laptop. I may have to call customer service for that.

Really most printers are dummy simpleish.

My advice is a cannon or a dell printer.

What ever printer has ink that is not to expensive cause you will but a lot of it. If it's colored they use color ink when printing black and white for some reason?

Also a newer model so after like2 years you can still buy the refills.

Brother is a good brand for a fax on top

You can buy the cheapest printer for less money than you would spend on an Ink cartridge for an expensive printer

They are more or less the same. HP, Cannon, ... All the brands offer the same results and all have the same weakness, the ink is super expensive.

Inkjets use wet ink and dry up when not in use, toners use solid ink and only consume ink in use... depends on the scale of your printing I mean I use the local library at 15p a sheet because I don't print much at all

Noty much, a few pages evwery 12 weeks or so.

It will be cheaper to just go to a place with a printer and pay them by the page.

That's true, but with me things are a little different. I am not driving yet (knee implant that had issues) until my doctor okays it (if I can place my foot on the gas pedal and brake with no problem, then I'm good), so for now, it's worth just doing this at home.
