So here is the way I found to at least partially mitigate this problem. You can use a known keyword on at least some occasions to get rid of a lot of the junk quickly. It goes like this.
Yesterday on so-called cyber Monday I automatically searched my inbox for every instance of the word cyber and when the program found every instance of that word in different emails, I simply deleted them all.
Today on the ridiculous giving Tuesday I did the same thing using the word giving and again deleted all of the emails. This is a simple two-step effective way of getting rid of a lot of garbage. Can you think of some keywords that you could use and ask your email client to search on and then do a mass deletion of everything it found?
