Why do people like Iphone so much?

Question

I just went to Best Buy yesterday to try out some of the new phones they had there. I tried some of their iphones as well as Samsungs and others on their display. I am STILL an Android person! I have a free Motorola phone that I am using right now that I got from the Welfare office a long time ago and it works just fine, I don't need no $1,000 phone that can do the job the same way my FREE phone does! I could also just buy more storage for my phone. The processing time (the response time) on my motorola power is just as fast as the iphone13, 14 etc. really.

I feel like it's just the name that people like.

I don’t know. I’m very much not tech-savvy, I wouldn’t even have a mobile phone to begin with if the world wasn’t so weird about it, haha. But all of my smartphones have been iPhones, just because I started just taking hand-me-downs from my girlfriend when she would re-up hers. Whenever there’s new technology, I get on board like 5-15 years later, lmao. I’m not really fascinated by electronics, just not my thing.

Anyway, iPhone is all I know. I would say it’s definitely a plus that I can see if someone is typing back to me when texting. That green bubble is annoying when I text with Android users. It may surprise you that I don’t really do computers much either, so I never owned my own laptop, I always borrowed a roommate’s or something when I needed one, and occasionally I’ve been given some last-legs hand-me-downs that would last a few months to a year…. point is, I never really controlled what kind of operating systems I used. Whatever I got for free was what I used. My lady, for whatever reason, started with an iPhone, and she bought a MacBook laptop, so I’m just kind of stuck on the Apple train, but it’s not important enough for me to get off, haha. Money isn’t really an issue for me, so it’s just about sticking with what I’m familiar with.

Advertising, mob think, and style. It works with anything. "Oh look Jenny is so cool, what phone is that?" "She has an Apple." "Oh man I need an Apple so bad." There is no real thought, it's just mob think. And Apple knows this and they take 100% advantage of it. Personally I think Apple products are awful, because they focus on style over function. Android is more function. However Android is Google and it's nothing more than a huge spying device. So you have to de-Google Android as much as possible.

They like it because it's easy to use. The UI is simple and it takes no time to get use to. Android has a lot of features and customisation that Apple does not. There is also just the aesthetic of it, they're good looking phones and you can easily get cute decent phone cases for them unlike majority of android phones outside Samsungs.

I have one of each, I use apple day to day simply because I like the aesthetic. Then I have a cheap Samsung that has games, books etc on it 🤣

Although iPhones are terrific devices but they've become more of a status symbol.
I see no point in spending thousand dollars over a device which has a core function of making and receiving calls. I never bought any Apple product coz they're overpriced, agree or not.
In one fourth of it's price, you can get a handy Android that works just fine.

I was wondering that myself. The only time I ever touched iPhones were either in shops (and to see how to use it) or other people's iphones to capture photos or videos.

I felt zero difference in using their devices VS an Android VS to some degree a Windows Phone.

I have never bought any Apple products.

I used Samsung for ages and Android, I just got fed up with them and moved to Apple. I have an iPad Pro, a new iPhone and air pods pro, also Apple Music. That all works for me and I use car play. It’s secure, it works well, they look good, sound good oh and the Apple App Store is far safer than Android Play Store.

iPhones are easy to use, and the user experience is extremely reliable. Plus, iMessage is nice... it's tough to beat iMessage, honestly.

I would say that the GPS in iPhones is also better quality than what I've seen out of androids.

I don't think people are generally blown away or impressed by their Apple products. It's more just that I know the thing is going to work and it's one less thing for me to think about.

I do have an iPhone. It is a 2016 SE 1st Gen that I bought in 2017, new old stock, for $100. Still has 92% on original battery and even though technically no longer supported it just got security updates a week ago. I cannot fathom spending $1000 or more just to be fashionable.

Either because its a fashion accessory to them, they are used to the eco system or care a lot about the phones update lifespan. Android is the objectively better phone (Minus update duration).
