Why do some people despise iPhones?

I have a 15 pro max and there’s no other phone I’d rather own.

I've had an iPhone since they were first released. But I'll readily admit an Android phone does everything I need just as well as an iPhone. Mobile devices reached the point of being a commodity for me around 2012 or so when 4G data became widely available. Now I look at them like a toaster. They are all good enough and price wins.

So why do I still have an iPhone? Because it's what I'm used to and Apple keeps offering a 2 year old product at a reduced price and a cheap current model with reduced features. That's really the only reason.

It’s more to do with the company that makes them than the product itself. There’s this whole thing with planned obsolescence and how they focus more on being a brand than really anything else to the point of not having the greatest reputation as an employer.

It's less of an issue now, but they used to be only held by AT&T as a carrier, and their music couldn't be translated to another format once you bought it. I don't know about the music thing, but I do know that now any network can be their carrier, T-Mobile is the best for any phone though.

You also have no other braincells to spare, hence need to rely on a "granny phone" instead of getting a real phone.
