Duck meat has specific taste some people don't like. However with some seasoning it's possible to get rid of this taste. Personally I like duck breast and legs with teriyaki sauce.

I like alligator bites the same thing goes with duck meat I have only had it a few times. I had a duck club sandwich which was really tasty. The duck club sandwich came with fries that were fried in duck fat & that was something.

The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach & you just reached me on that recipe. Honestly I have never cooked duck & I’ll have to try it because I like trying new dishes.
youtube.com/shorts/K-wDnORlBP8?si=2QKfDFPWyGvOBSE5 Thank you for giving me a new dinner idea.
I use air fryer, breast 30-40 min by 140C, legs 50-60 min. by 140C.
Cutting the skin helps to get rid of fat but just salt and black Peper is a little bit too simple for duck. Duck meat loves, ginger, soy sauce, white pepper, sweet bell pepper, Sichuan pepper, a little bit star anise, marjoram, thyme, basil. Legs are more though, 24 hours in butter milk helps to get them soft.
Riddle me this? What kind of sides do you make with it? Maybe mashed sweet potato’s?
If one has to use seasoning to remove the taste... Why not simply eat chicken instead seems oversolving something. And chicken is more widely available, cheaper. I've never had duck and I may even like it but doubt however chicken is right there so I will never know. Unlike some animals ducks I'm not curious enough to test unlike I would for sure try alligator probably to not like it.
I have only had it once. Some guys had gone hunting and they cooked a duck for dinner. They told me to dig in but be careful there might still be some buckshot in it.
I thought it tasted like beef. It was very good.
By birds is fat tissue color very important. Generally birds with yellowish fat tissue taste much better than with white one. Even garden chicken with yellow fat outperform farmed chicken massively in meat quality.
I'm not a bird expert but I think that farmed ducks taste better than chicken because ducks would starve with fed farmed chicken get. That's why ducks costs here around 10-15 USD and chicken is very cheap 3-8 USD per kg.
The traditional Chinese Peking duck is the obvious choice, but I am not a huge fan of duck meat.
It's cooked, fried and smoked. I lot of work, practically not doable with a single duck. I have it few time in China restaurant but I wouldn't say it outperforms duck breast friend 30 min in air fryer. However difficult to say since china restaurants are 95% Vietnamese here, maybe they do something wrong.
@freyared I've had it in Beijing. It's amazing. A restaurant that mainly only serves that dish.
No thank you ma’am I’m not interested in cooking that and I’m certainly not interested in eating it. Even if you paid me in cash, I’m not interested in eating Donald Duck food. I’ll eat chicken and turkey and black Angus steak but no duck 🦆
I adore duck!! My standard is Tetsuya Wakuda's Soy-Mirin Glaze Roast Duck Breast, fondant potato, duck jus. Sometimes also Jamie Oliver's Duck, plum sauce, star anise, rice noodle.
I like duck. But mainly the brest. French or Chinese style, medium cooked.
Haven't tried , I'm mostly vegetarian
I've had duck bacon before. It was pretty neat.
Yeah and baked

I really enjoy duck, especially because of its rich, gamey flavor 🦆
My favorite way is pan-seared duck breast, inspired by both French and Japanese cooking. I score the skin, season with salt and pepper, then sear skin-side down until crisp. I deglaze the pan with soy sauce, mirin, a little honey, ginger, and orange zest, then slice the duck and serve it over jasmine rice with that glossy sauce.
