413 opinions shared on Technology & Internet topic. My phone is from 2017 so you can guess how good the screen on it is...
If you guessed perfectly intact, you guessed correctly! Of course the phone has dropped but so far it always survived it. The case I have on ensures it won't fall on the screen itself since thats slightly elevated and its never fallen on an uneven floor.38 Reply- 1 y
I only had one phone with such strength and eventually it gave out rip
- 1 y
Its also still fast, the battery is still good enough (2/3rd of its original capacity so roughly the battery life of most iphones) and it has the stuff I like in a phone. Headphone jacks, proper bezels instead of holepunch camera's and Android 10 which lets me install what I want and have proper file system access. I even managed to modify the model to support 4G calling so I won't have to throw it away once 3G stops here.
I'm from 1994, so yes you've guessed I've seen my share of screens. Jolly good to hear your screen is outlasting others here lol ๐
There's no shame in moving with the times. I've gone through about including hand me downs about 6-10 phones so far in my life since my first around 2008
- 1 y
@itsclearlynicholas "There's no shame in moving with the times." the problem is that modern phones are inferior to the one I already have. They restrict me more, they lack a 3.5MM headphone jack, they often have other annoying design quirks like a hole punch camera.
I'm a technology geek so if a new phone came out that was better than the one I have i'd jump on that. There are certainly things i'd want from a phone that would make me replace mine and the industry was briefly moving towards those things. And then backed away into a direction I dislike completely. You do you ๐
Im a simple simple, so anyways, night. Happy secular Easter ๐๐๐ฃ

I ha e two phones. One of 4 years and a recent 1 that I bought a few months ago.
I use both.
Even the oldest one doesn't have cracks it looks almost brand new. I use tempered glass on both and they are both Xiaomi phones.
All my previous ones that were from more "popular" brands didn't last more than 1 or 2 years at most and their screens always cracked no matter what I did.118 Reply- 1 y
So why exactly do you have two phones? What made you go for another when the previous one is brand new almost ๐
- 1 y
Oh so it's a work phone, I thought you just had two phones cause you could ha
- 1 y
I was like a girl with secrets fair enough, enough secrets she needs two phones ๐
- 1 y
I think I know the type of person that you are, you are like "I'm trying to do this and if it works out that's good, if it doesn't work out, that's fine too๐ " lol
Foreal tho being organized is good, it will save you a lot of stress and unnecessary effort ha - 1 y
I am actually a very stressful person and I feel much inconvenience when something doesn't work out, however I try to keep my stress to myself in order not to inconvenience others. Of course I am not talking about the situation with organizing (since that is one of the things I dont truly care much about๐) but with other stuff that is how I am.
- 1 y
So you are the complete opposite to what I said, with the exclusion of organization of course lol
So you are just good at hiding your stress is what you are saying, you can be dying inside and outside you are like "hello ๐" - 1 y
That is accurate only 2 of my friends have noticed the whole stressed version of me (and my coworkers too because if you work with people for multiple years for an average of 8 hours daily, well there is a point that you can't keep up the inside mood from showing ) What about you? How do you handle stress related situations?
- 1 y
I take medication ๐
How would I know you are stressed tho? There must be hints and I wanna know them so I can call you down when you are about to self distruct and take half the city with you ๐ - 1 y
Medication like Xanax? Anyway does it work for you so far?
Oh it would be hard to tell through text or written language since I can better control my reactions compared to face to face.
As for how I react it depends. I have frozen before due to stress, or I had a breakdown, or I reacted immediately in order to solve the issue. Every time it feels like rolling a dice though. There are multiple triggers though and I find myself reacting in different things in a different way or even in similar situation it triggers in a different way depending on the setting or my mood. Sometimes it can even trigger my anger or action or the tendency to over-explain, so it honestly depends.
But in general the only way I have found which is sort of effective to ease general anxiety is by working out so I have made it a part of my routine. Being close to nature also helps.
I have tried natural supplements before, they didn't do shit for me. I have even tried a specific medication when I was younger but it also didn't do shit.
However at night I haven't found ways to calm myself in order to sleep since I have the tendency to overthink even though the stress can be manageable. - 1 y
Not really it's less potent I think and I rarely take them, yours sounds like a very serious case of anxiety, you ever thought of maybe like some edibles or something? Breakdowns is not cool, the breathing technique works tho, when you get those I'd say form a habit of reminding yourself to blank your mind and breathe
- 1 y
That always happens to me, I be getting at least 2 to 3 different topics in before the convos end on here on the regular ๐
1 yLast phone I dropped without screen protectorโฆ

Yeah it is. My best friend has one too.
- 1 y
What is this phenomenon lol
- 1 y
Lol I don't know
This made me smile giggle immaturely and that's a shame, android or iOS?
My phone has a barely noticeable crack in the bottom left corner, but it's so far down that it doesn't interfere with anything. My niece cracked it a few years ago when she was messing around with it one day.
15 Reply- 1 y
Messing around how, testing the crash resistance? Lol
- 1 y
Damn and she cracked it, that's crazy ha

@spartan55 My phone still functions normally, for the most part. But I've had it for almost 4 years, so I'll probably need an upgrade soon. ๐

1 yI've had so many phones I could open up a shop!
Funny story though that happened to my Nokia 6880. I got it in the morning, put in my pocket and by the afternoon, as I walked past a door I heard *crunch* Broke the screen. I spent that entire contract using one of my previous phones!
00 ReplyI keep a protective screen on my phone but I've had to replace it many times cuz of cracks

Those things work miracles sometimes when they aren't completely useless of course lol
I went from my charging port not working to the mother board being fried. THIRD Motorola that has crapped out on me.
18 ReplyBrand switch time? Or nah?
Brand loyal? I used to be brand loyal to Nokia, sort of. Then smartphones happened, and I discovered vivo a Chinese brand line Oppo but vivo. I appreciate brand loyalty and I also appreciate flexibility lol
That said, I've had my share of different phone brands over time. In my life so far from 2007 or 2008 to present 2024, I've gone through maybe about 6-10 phones. Enjoyably ๐ and i never went through a "plan" aka a rental. Lol ๐ I did get two hand me downs lol ๐ when family upgraded lol and as smartphones became common
Groovy, man knows ๐ anyways, I'm simple and far simpler than you even. ๐๐
