It’s amazing, but I’m really worried, especially for the likes of my friends. I have friends who want to be teachers, and I just made a college level essay using GPT, then I asked it to do a 10th grade level version of the same essay. I don’t know how teachers are going to be able to properly grade papers with this technology available to anyone for free. Not only that, but the essay was on “The Modern Welfare System", and it was remarkably like the one I did on that subject in 9th grade! All a ninth grader needs to do is always use it, and they wouldn't get caught!
But that Face Time thing they did, and the voice… She (it) understood exactly what it was seeing contextually, and could react with faux emotional responses in real time! That’s terrifying! How is anyone going to know whether they are speaking to an actual human, or an AI after this goes live? Imagine all the receptionist jobs that will be made redundant because of this, when they can integrate it into an office phone system! It’s both a very exciting time to be alive, and a very scary time to be alive. Soon we won’t be able to believe anything we see on TV or on-line unless we were actually there, because AL will be able to create a perfect fake! I don’t think this a good thing at all.

Waiting for someone to come up with "OpenAI is like the child of Facebook and Amazon Alexa" research and how feds obtain information from them. I don't trust them.
Proton in Switzerland with strong privacy respecting laws were forced to hand over data of a suspecting user. They got user's recovery email address and IP address and that got 2 people arrested. One in Spain and one in France. Imagine how much worse it is with a data collection service like that.
