I have both internal and external cameras. We have one external from the front door that can see the entire front yard. We have one external camera on the pool because God forbid somebody falls in. We have one internal camera in the basement to keep an eye on the kids when they were playing when they were younger.

At home, external. Managed through third-party security company. At work, both internal and external, but don’t typically have reason to access.
