The smart thing to do is buy Visio if you're spending under $1500 Samsung if you're spending less than $3000 and Sony if you're ready to spend big bucks on their top of the line technology, it's truly amazing. It has the same strange feeling you used to get from top of the line tube screens. I'm not sure if the ones I'm talking about ever existed outside of a broadcast room.
LG smart tvs are not so smart and the roku ones are nice if you're really that broke. But if uou can put $300 together, there's no reason not to get a Visio. Comes with a shit load of free channels too. One of them is top gear 24/7 😂

  Well mine came out in 2012 and I read somewhere they stopped making TV's even before that year back then but not sure now in 2024

  This friend of mine wants me to buy his Samsung UHD 6.5 TV for $500 but I won't cuz I'm happy with my RCA HDtv it fills all my needs for my consoles and even works for PS5 and series x

  Anything under a thousand bucks I think it's foolishly to get anything other than Visio. Great picture quality, a ton of settings and the software for the smart features works great. You can get a perfectly decent one for $300 like the one I got for my brother. I have one that I dropped $700 because I waited for the new model to come out. Before clearence it was tagged at $850 I think.

I think they actively record you and send data to servers which use natural language processing to spy on you. They are like KGB bugs that invade your privacy.

I don't mind them but I don't like that you don't really have the option anymore to not get one. My flat could do with a bigger tv but none of us want to get a smart tv. We have a Chromecast that is perfectly good.
Also creepy that you can stream to it from the other side of the damn world. I was in the UK trying to stream Spotify to a tv at an Airbnb. I clicked the wrong one because I had no idea what the tv was called, eventually found it. Got a message from the group chat and a friend of mine said Spotify just randomly started playing on her tv and she was freaked the fuck out 🙃 it was me
