The most important thing is if the IOS version is still supported, this tends to be 9 years, but they can be exceptions.
With Android it’s 3 years but Google Pixel have moved to 6 I think. It’s those security updates that are critical.
14 would be a good balance
Thank you, I looked at those and they're only a few hundred dollars less so I might be better off just getting the iPhone 16 for the small difference in price. I was hoping to save half maybe, but you have to go way back to find that. At least I know the phone will hold its value. My phones are still like new when I'm done with them, unlike a 12 year old girl where they'd be a battered heap of metal and battery and scratched and broken screens (mostly from riding around and being sat on in back pockets).
if you are going to get the newest Iphone yet... maybe wait a couple of months
because every new release comes with the usual troubles and issues... and it always takes Apple to release firmware updates and patches, if you can hold a couple of months, that would be a better choice
now, if the price tag is not an issue... then you should just go and get the newest one, because, why not... it's going to give you the most on the long run, which is almost a full decade of updates
