I noticed something very odd today. When I turned on my TV, I noticed a minified browser window popped up and showing my router config settings. Then, I noticed my smart oven was beeping oddly.

I think they have no reason to spy on you specifically, they've already got as much information on you as you could possibly imagine. Everything connected to the Internet likely has secret programming that can be used by intelligence agencies to collect information on you, should the need arise. It's not like someone's always actively watch you eat corn dogs or whatever you do in your free time, but I am of the mindset it would be trivial for them to learn whatever they want if they find you to be a potential terrorist. If they came at everyone for every little thing the prisons would be over-saturated even more than they already are, so just live your life or get into politics and change things somehow (not recommended due to money and difficulty)

Either that, or stop using your Internet and phone altogether. (Much less fun)

Since the patriot act under Bush and expanded under Obama that seems to happen pretty often. I personally caught DoD trying to do that before during the Obama administration.

Check your logs during the event and determine who owns the IP addresses that are sending inbound traffic. If they are government IPs, then the government is connecting to your network.

I am serious. I am not on drugs. I have one of those firesticks, and when I powered on my TV, it was showing a minified browser with my ip and the webpage with my network config settings. I never navigated to that page. My fiance thought it was odd too.
I also have one of those Tovala smart ovens, and it started making these weird beeping tones.
