Have you ever been hacked by a scammer online?

My Facebook account was hacked awhile back and the person that hacked it changed my name and took over my whole account , pretending to be me , , I tried reporting it and told all my friends and family that it isn’t me. Facebook would not help me in the least , even after I verified it was me and showed them my license and everything and they still couldn’t help me , Like what the fuck? I also had my friends report my account as well Facebook still won’t do shit about it? I created another account just so I could mother fuck the hacker , this happened a while back and now this hacker is trying to blackmail me wanting me to pay them for not leaking shit to my friends and family , I told them I called the cops and if they try pulling anything I will sue the living shit out of them So social media is not safe whatsoever, Have you ever experienced anything like this?

This shit happens constantly. That's why I don't get why people put anything sensitive on social media, even if it's in DMs (not criticizing you by the way). Not only can hackers get it all, but the social media companies own it and can do whatever they want with it. They can willingly give stuff to governments and third party companies. No warrant necessary from gov if it's willingly given.

And yeah man, I hope it works out for you. This kind of stuff is a serious crime and if you know the right path for reporting, you can get US gov to work with foreign govs to catch the hacker. Even if they're Russian or Chinese. You might be screwed if they're North Korean. And VPNs literally always fail, so the hackers are for sure exposed at certain points along the way. Guaranteed.

Yea I am cautious on the internet , so that motherfucker doesn’t really have much shit , just my name and my pictures mainly , and he or she is trying to blackmail me , they sent me a message saying if I don’t pay them 500 dollars they are going to ruin my life. I laughed and said go right ahead motherfucker cuz I already reported you to the police. I just don’t understand why Facebook can’t help me with this whatsoever

FB is just a worthless company. They don't care about anyone or anything. Trust me, they 100% can tell that you were hacked and are a victim. They're just choosing not to help you

No, but I traced one back to its origins in Nigeria by following the server pings that the admins appreciated and thanked me for reporting. Something about a Nigerian prince needing money.

No I've never been hacked! Been part of several class action suits against retail stores which were hacked and supposedly customer information was stolen.

No. I use complex passwords and two-factor authentication, so none of my accounts have ever been stolen so far. You pay for stupidity.
