This graphic actually shocked me. You can see from 0 to 44 women make up a relatively small amount of gamers but over 45 it completely switches :O

Mobile games tend to be the ones who try and exploit people the most for money. And they're also the most lucrative games in the industry. It seems like when granny is not getting scammed by the nigerian prince then she's getting scammed by gaming companies.

My mum (75) is really into it. Cos she has time on her hands but physically hard to do things. So gaming is something she can do to exercise her mind with minimal physical effort. She likes the competitive element. She's always telling me like she's in the top ten or even 1st place out of thousands of players.

I myself don't have time. Work, studies, family, keep le busy. Plus running around on dating apps and my Snapchat. If they were classed as "games" then yeah I spend a lot of hours on those..

I don't pay out money tho. Pretty sure my mum doesn't either...

Welp, I fall into this category (barely) but the only games I play are console games with emulators, except I also bought final fantasy tactics from the playstore cause I really love that game. It's not like it has a pay shop or anything.
