I personally think people lack accountability for the content they choose to consume. The algorithm usually goes along with the type of content you choose to follow. The only place I say is toxic and doesn't follow an algorithm is facebook. I get so many unrelated reels and random "here are the people you may know" messages. I got rid of Facebook it's garbage and useless.

Who are readers accountable to? Social media can be addicting. So can being a superfan of some performer, or of a sports team, or video gaming, or gambling or shopping.
