Who invented the microwave oven?

Yes, this question was inspired by @Miah06.

It was invented by Percy Spenser at the Raytheon company. I actually worked in the factory where it was discovered. The story goes that Spenser was developing a new kind of power tube to use with their new radar. He found that a candy bar he had in his lab coat was melted.

Close but no. It was 1947, before you were born but the same year as roswell, they were trying in some secret base, to reverse engineer some mysterious device, from the roswell crash, but after several attempts the engineers could only emit a common radio wave. therefore...

They declassified it and sold it to some company to see what civilian use, it heated water, faster, so they made it an oven... but the truth is still covered up.

Yes, I think it was 1947. The Americans were working on a better version of the British radar system. The Raytheon Microwave and Power Tube facility was where it happened.

it is true. I worked in the same building in a different division and knew guys over there that say it is true. Raytheon employees could buy a Radar Range with a good discount. Tery were still too expansive for me to afford.
