When you get a new cell phone, what has to be done to it before you can start making phone calls?

Sounds like there is an issue with the subscriber identification module / mobile subscriber identity as if you can’t make calls / send , receive data then your likely not authorized to do so.


Course if might just be a faulty sim , unlikely but not impossible. Contact the cell provider.

How does that get me to make phone calls? I got the phone 2 months ago, it took a day or 3 to figure out what I had to do on it to find a way to be able to make phone calls, etc. with no problem ever since. All of a sudden, 3 days ago, it stopped letting me make or accept calls and texts. There's no clue ANYWHERE as to WHY it won't let me use the phone anymore!! If I'm supposed to pay someone to use it, who would that be? Nobody's sent me any kind of a bill so, I can't pay a bill I never got.
As far as I know, all I did was push buttons but, I no longer have any clue what I did to solve that issue.
