Would you ever switch from Apple to Samsung or Samsung to Apple?

I recently switched from Apple to Samsung and it is great, i used to be biased towards apple before but budget broke that biaseness.

From what I've heard from my techy friends that apple is more expensive for the same specifications, not that I care about it.

For the camera, Samsungs pictures look more realistic (the light), and apples looks more saturated, selfies look more lively in apple in my opinion, but quality wise samsung felt better (obviously because its newer).

Tbh from an IPhone 11, everything is an upgrade lol.

But price difference was kinda huge, had a choice between iphone 16 and s24, and samsung was 200£ cheaper, even though s24 was newer.

I am Android all the way, but I regularly have to deal with Apple devices because my customers use them. I can't tell you how many times I have tried to do something on their phone to learn that the Apple version of the app doesn't have that feature, because Apple have decided not to allow access to something that feature requires. I could not get many things done that I am able to accomplish in the field right from my phone if I had an iPhone.

Plus, I have no desire to pay the Apple tax. Apple charges way more for everything, and you aren't getting anything for that extra money but a logo. Just because I have the money doesn't mean I am willing to spend it foolishly. I don't wear Jordan sneakers or wear an expensive watch (or any jewelery) either. I'd much rather spend that money on an investment or an experience than on something to try to impress other people. I don't give two shits about what other people think.

I feel like that switch is something that takes place when you're first choosing what kind of work you want to do (in college). Then you're locked in because of your projects and stuff. The exception is if you get a deal as a poor student and once you come into some cash you go for the one you prefer to use.

I also switched from Apple to Samsung (Fold) three years ago and have zero regrets. iPhone change very little and they are not innovated. I believe they were leaders when Steve Jobs was captain of the ship but since then they have become followers instead of leaders.

I've always used Android phones (not always Samsung though), and I would never even consider switching to Apple. For a few reasons.

One, like you say, it's overpriced for the specs, and also I hear getting any apps on the phone nickle and dimes you to death too. I could afford it, but it's the principle. I hate corporations profiteering.

Two, Apple seems like some sort of huge cult to me, and I just don't vibe with that. Like, for example, why would somebody buy a Mac when (in my experience) Windows is so much more featureful, less buggy, and has like 10 times as many apps available for it? It can only be the cult aspect. And why are there so many women who refuse to date guys just because they use Android instead of iPhone? Again, it can only be the cult mentality.

And that goes hand-in-hand with another aspect I don't like, that when it comes to phones, it seems rather conformist to get Apple. People get it just because it's "in." I'm not about that life. I define my own fashion. Most people are more like jellyfish in how they just go along with whatever direction the current is going.

Three, I tried using an Apple phone once, and virtually every little thing I tried to do on it, I had to Google how to do it. It wasn't intuitive at all. And there's no back button on iPhones. According to my mom, there's like four different ways to back to the previous thing, and you have to figure out which way it is in the particular thing you're in at the moment. An Android it's just the back button, everywhere, to get back to wherever you're trying to go back to.

My first phone was an iPhone 4S


Then I switched to Android
Had a Nexus, LG, and then Samsungs for years


Last year I switched back to the big bad apple and got the iPhone 16 Pro


Mainly because I’m paying it over time not in one shot


And also because while I used to take full advantage of Android’s flexibility, I realized that all the apps I use now are basic free stuff that I can get in an iPhone


And honestly the 16 Pro’s camera is no joke


I might switch back if Android create something truly unique


But since next year I can trade in my phone for the newer model and only pay the price deficit I might stay down this apple rabbit hole

I can't stand Apple. It's like a fashion device and I feel like they just want to put me in a pig pen. Dictate how I can use my phone.

If my parents ever ask me to try and fix their Apples, it just makes me want to sledgehammer the thing. It's so frustrating to use.

I just buy a mid-range samsung (S22Fe I think). It lasts me 5-10 years. Never slows down.

After that time I replace. I don't really care or think about my phone.

I'm sticking to android, apple is for people that don't have braincells, they come out with a new phone every year with nothing new, just a new appearance and double the price, I dont understand how people fall for that constantly, the only good thing apple came up with in a long time is that AI feature I'm seeing around but maybe it's not even apple and it's just an app compatible with only iOS

I switched to an iPhone about a year ago, and switched right back within a few days, the main problem was that the iPhone is not multilingual, it was very hard to talk to friends in other countries, switching the keyboard every single time, we're switching the text-to-speech every single time. Not worth it.

iPhones have a whole different setup than Samsung. It's all about preferences. I prefer a phone I can tweak and even put different operating systems on. It's a hobby which Apple doesn't allow. Samsung neither for that matter. So I don't use either of them.

Samsung I tried I phones they just got me Soo angry I prefer my 70 dollar android, fact the phone I'm using for this app cost me 5 dollars sealed box. it's a Chinese phone but it is surprisingly better than my 2022 I phone se.
