What is the best EV-only car maker?

Electric vehicles (EVs) are an alternative to conventional internal combustion vehicles. Though many companies now make EVs, this question is about those companies that only make EVs.

Aren't all electric cars connected via the internet to the manufacturers and stated so in the agreement people sign when they buy one? That makes all of them bad, someone can decide that you've driven too many miles for the week and shut your car down. Don't the doors lock when the battery has no charge or develops a fault... Or is on fire with you in the car?

I'd go for a hybrid, not an all electrical vehicle. I won't cast a vote for lack of better knowledge.
