Would it be wrong of me to buy one of those handhelds preloaded with thousands of games?

My friend showed me this Gameboy looking thing with thousands of older games on it. It was so cool. I did some research and found out they are illegal. I really want one though. Would it be wronf if I bought one. Like, would it hurt anyone?

You can get legal ones. You would just have to buy one for each system you want.
Otherwise, emulators have been around a long time and i don’t know anyone who has ever been busted for using them. Developers have long made their money back on all of the classic games. It would cost more than it might net to go out and crack down on everything that’s costing them a few pennies here and there.

Lol, you read wrong. There is no restriction in some countries. In others there are some.

It is not the sdcard, or handheld that is the issue. But the OS and/or the games. You can easily. swap both out in most models.

I mean, I don’t think you’ll be arrested if you buy one, but if these are pirated games, they might be cut off without warning if the company takes legal action, and you probably wouldn’t have any recourse if you knowingly bought pirated software.

You can but you must realize that it will only run old games and much less powerful then any flagship phone. Personally, i would look into a real x86 powered handheld like a ayaneo flip.

I have a couple, may are cheap and flaky, controller is horrible.
