Because in the world young people live in now, this is normal. We come from a time before the internet existed. Back then you had to go outside your house and learn to socialize. With generations that followed the rise of the internet, they didn't have to. They stay home and build a world around them. If people make them mad they just blow up there online persona and start over. So they never actually have to learn to get along with anyone. This is why young people are so narcissistic. They think the world exists for them, and them alone.
Addiction probably and lack of self control

lol, and every thing you see on TV or read in magazines is too.
The important thing to understand is "context". Not everything you see, feel, touch or taste is "real" but that doesn't necessarily make it "fake".
Fake entails an active counterfeit or deception. When we know most food is flavoured or fortified, most pictures and video is sharpened, most audio is processed, and even touch can be manipulated.
It is only when these things are actively peddled as "real" that you can start the authenticity conversation. Its why in nearly every controversial social media content they will add "make up your own mind" or spout "free speech".
That’s hardly news, is it? There are many reasons to stay away from antisocial media, this is one of them.
I don't do social media...
but if I did... then it would be for the memes
this site is as close as i get to social media
The reason is that it is not entirely fake, and we have the freedom to select what we view.
I deleted my facebook, twitter and instagram years ago.
