Why do a lot of people assume any comment they read online and they don’t like or disagree with must be coming from a bot account?

Sure bot accounts do exist but that still doesn’t mean all comments you dislike or disagree with online are from bot accounts.

The saddest thing about the modern world is that it often feels like no one wants to hear facts anymore. They just want to hear what makes them feel good. People are content going around being confidently wrong. People just want their agendas and preconceived notions to be confirmed, and they want to be coddled, and no offence, but the anons on here are the best example of this behaviour.

People do a lot of what I call "selective seeing.” People who do this type of thinking only see what agrees with their worldview. If it conflicts with their worldview, they ignore it. If someone brings it to their attention, they dismiss it or wave it away and make some excuse for why they are doing that. But the truth is the facts do not care how you feel.
