You are much better off with the lower case as it is made in one single piece and does not have any cracks where water and dust can get into and possibly damage you smartphone.
The simpler, the better, always. No need to have a monster case that probably adds weight and volume to your smartphone and that basically serves no purpose.
Even the second case seems to be very thick and is not my favorite but I would still chose that one out of both that you give us to chose from.
No need to pay extra money for something that is basically not doing anything better than the simpler case.
Red case has camera cover on it that slides to protect cameras
