So I tried making a purchase on Amazon and it sent a verification code to the associated e-mail, but I can't access the e-mail because it's prompting a verification that I'm unable to bypass. The weird thing is, it's asking me to answer a security question I never chose and have no answer to. When I hit "I can't answer this" or to login another way, it takes me to the "help" page, or tells me to log-in on a device I've previously logged in on. I tried FOUR devices and they all do the same thing. The account was in my list of saved accounts, but now it's not showing.
What's even weirder, when I type the RECOVERY e-mail for THAT account, it tries to send an e-mail to the account I can't get into. The account is still registered, I just can't get into it and therefore, can't get into my Amazon.
Apparantly I don't have a phone # attached to my Amazon account, and the only other way to varify is to send them a video of my face and picture of my ID. NO WAY am I sending them my face and ID.
So I wanna know what my options are. If I have to I guess I can create another Amazon account, though I don't know of it'll even let me with the same name and address, but I also have other accounts attached to that e-mail, so I need to get into it eventually, regardless.
The only other solution I found is to pay tech support to reset my account from THEIR end. I'm not paying anything.

Accounts be crazy I don't know, though typically you are given multiple ways to verify and may have to do it wrong to get it to give another option? Since getting my new phone it tells me to verify in a way on my steam deck by going to settings on phone for whatever but for life of me I can't find what it is asking for, why not let me put my email password in as before? So then I randomly clicked stuff, another way to verify was to Bluetooth my phone to deck couldn't be bothered with that then somehow it just brought up put in password finally.
But honestly I have no clue
I would start over completely. Create a new Amazon account and answer any security questions and give them your phone number. Jeff Bezos wants every penny you have, so he will make it easy for you to come back.
When they need something verified, I prefer they do it via text message and not that email shit. Soon they'll want your DNA samples to prove it's you.
