I mostly use Reddit to check out stuff related to my field or see what people are saying about the latest news. It's way too anonymous though. Nobody really posts pics and you hardly ever run into the same person twice. I just scroll through posts and read comments without saying much.

Yes, that’s how the echo chambers limit dissenting voices. You have to join so that if you post any evidence that counters their nonsense, they can just kick you out and don’t have to question their own ignorance.
To be fair, it’s also how otherwise uncontentious subs limit trolling. So it’s good if you just want to share your luv of crocodiles or whatever. But if you’re looking for the free and open exchange of ideas, you will not find it on reddit.
