SOCIAL fundraiser for the individual owner... and absolves some of the angst against Elon. You enter your car into the lot and charge people per rock, baseball hit or ball throw... just like a fair, and they get to destroy your car! We could even shoot corn cannons at them, the sky is the limit... ahemmm..

At the end... your Tesla is trash and goes to the dumb... I mean dump. Fire department on hand in case of a battery fire... which would be really cool, but dangerous.

You keep the $ raised because... here's the benefit... you need to buy a new car, or some bus tickets or a bicycle... but you boost the economy by buying somethign else! All, while disposing of your garbage Tesla you were gonna save the planet with.

Genius... Win Win!!

Earth orbit is getting more and more crowded, with both active satellites and pieces of debris. There's so much stuff up there that it's far from alarmist to start worrying about the Kessler syndrome, a nightmare scenario in which a collision or two leads to many more, vastly increasing the amount of junk circling our planet.

Most of those LEO satellites — about 6,800 of them — belong to a single constellation: SpaceX's Starlink broadband network. The vast majority of these warnings involve Starlink satellites, which are far from sitting ducks. These spacecraft use onboard software to spot possibly worrisome encounters and perform evasive maneuvers if needed which other satellites cannot.

These numbers are growing all the time, and the tally could soon get mind-bogglingly high. SpaceX, for example, wants the Starlink network to eventually harbor more than 40,000 spacecraft.

Other players aim to build their own broadband constellations in LEO as well. China has begun building out its Qianfan ("Thousand Sails") megaconstellation, which will feature about 14,000 satellites if all goes according to plan. In addition, Amazon intends to assemble its own 3,200-satellite LEO broadband network, called Project Kuiper.

These satellites are having more and more close encounters with each other and with pieces of debris. Indeed, there are about 1,000 collision warnings per day on average in LEO. I didn't include nuclear. My reason being that it's not really natural as much as I support nuclear energy 100%. I also think by early 2100s room temperature super conductivity will be a reality on the grid so heat loss through electrical transmission will be solved.

Anyway, all have their pros and cons. I think tidal & geothermal have REALLY big potential. My local utility is subsidizing under ground heat pump installation and some municipalities are experimenting with tidal generation; there is so much unused water front property that it just makes sense.

In many cases, a combination of these innovations is energy neutral like using solar to lift mass for a gravity battery to run at night.

Fun fact: ONE space elevator with a gravity generator & a large (were talking hundreds of sq km) solar power array can generate enough power for entire 1st world nations.

I view Tesla positively from a technological standpoint. Their advancements in electric vehicle efficiency, battery technology, and self-driving capabilities have pushed the industry forward. Overall, I see them as an innovative company that has had a major impact on the auto industry.
