Another day another 3 tech problems to deal with. While trying to sign into Outlook I kept getting the message "we can't sign you in right now, please try again later". but I needed to clear my cookies instead, why have a message saying "please try again later"? I've been trying again for 2 days and that would have gone on forever. the message should have said delete your cookies. not only is microsoft making more unstable software it's error messages are also misleading.

Some other good example are:-

having to entering your address 50 different ways so an online form will recognize you address as valid one.

Ringing mazda because the Vin you entered on a form was invalid. Then the man on the phone verified that in fact it was valid.

Also I hate robots that force you select from 20 different checkbox reasons for ringing none of which have anything to do with your actual reason.

I could go on and on really but I read somewhere that the average person spends more then 200 hours a year fixing these sorts of things. So if my math is correct 8.61 billion people x 200 annual hours each = 1.722 trillon global man hours each and every year and the number keeps growing. I think raising the bar for software engineers has become a better cause then curing cancer.

I had a guy on the phone spend 90 mins trying to enter my address onto an online form before giving up. how many hours of re-entering your address, clearing cookies and changing web browsers etc would display a decent amount of desire to actually make changes to my situation? Don't you think that that tech guy would have had an above average level of skills? So why don't you enlighten us all with some real answers to these problems.

i'd rather talk to an offshore agent to fix the problem than have to answer a survey to get a ticket. waiting a few days for an answer that you really have to grind to get sucks! AI is nowhere near where it needs to be but it's being pushed to death so it's used without realizing the repercussions. and they want to use it for nuclear weapons? that's not a brilliant idea

I was a software developer in my career along with some sophisticated tech jobs. I was heavily engaged with offshore firms as well. The US developers were and are far superior to the average Indian software developer. I think as they took over more jobs that the quality of Apps has gone down. Honestly, they are cheap, not good. That’s the bottom line.

I just learned the chatgpt can't code very well either and god help us all when AI replaces all the Indians. Western people are the kings of innovation and our products will always be the gold standard. It's a reminders that we are irreplaceable when it comes to quality.
