+1 yArtificial intelligence can be boon and at same time a curse. We are still experimenting with newer forms of AI , and intregrating whatever possible with internet because it gets the job done easily. So far our experience with AI was good, but to develop an AI capable of doing stuffs shown in films such as Terminator or West world , would take years. It would all depends on what we make and how we are gonna shape it , what damage controls we would install in them , how we prevent them from attacking humans. But for now there's nothing to worry

Good answer. I Believe that we could use the AI Androids as a replacement.
So if you work as a factory packer or anywhere and get ill one day, or many of workers, you could use the AI Android to continue the work and maintain the transaction volume.
But if you completely rely on AI Robots, then it would be very unfair. If you could rely on Androids only, then I'd say only when it comes to working at night.
Therefore I am not afraid either as long as we keep boundaries and manage control.
AI Androids are a very good investment though. - +1 y
The future is of AI, look all big manufacturing plants (especially cars and chipsets) they all use machines , not humans. AI can cut down cost of manufacturing and they are more accurate too. AI gonna make many jobless in the future and sad part is it's started already !

Artificial intelligence is nothing. A machine can't do more than what it has been programmed for. It has parameters, and act between those parameters, no more. It can "learn" but it's just new informations.
Artificial consciousness is the issue. To decide what's good and what's bad, it need to be conscious. To be aware of its own existence, of the existence of humans, of the worth of our lives compared to what would happen if we disappeared, it would need to learn the concept of self-sacrifice because without us, that AI is doomed too.
See how long it takes for babies to learn about the self conscious? And they're instinctively programmed for it. So imagine how long it would take for a machine to do the same, without us noticing it.
It would need to learn to lie, to decipher human emotions so it knows if we believe its lie.
Also it would need a physical body, by millions, to do that. Even our best tanks are far from invincible.
Nothing that we call "AI" today is really an AI.00 ReplyThey don’t plan to enslave you with robots. They plan to enslave you with a social credit score and a digital fiat currency. By doing so they can force you to behave the way they want by impacting your social credit score and excluding you from society as well as steal your labor by manipulating the currency algorithm to their benefit. They have openly stated they want to microchip every human on the planet by 2026. Much of data mining revolves around aggregation and analysis of social network data volunteered by unsuspecting users which is tied to DNA analysis that is collected under the ruse of discovering your ancestry. People look for behavior patterns and cross analyze them to gene banks to determine which humans will be most servile and easily oppressed. They don’t need to use robots… People pay to give their information away so that they can be profiled, line up to get chipped, and invest their earnings into cryptocurrencies, etc. They volunteer themselves into bondage by signing their lives away on the dotted line. AI is used to profile and monitor the masses and keep them under a select group of slave masters thumbs.
00 ReplyYes, but not enslave. More like come to dominate humanity. This is because people will eventually want to stop treating them as mere machines, and eventually start a movement to give them rights and recognition as "individuals".
If you've ever played (or watched the story) of "Detroit: Become Human", you'll get an idea of how easily this can happen.
I don't think the AI dominance will be of the Terminator or Matrix variant. They'll simply slide into our lives and make us slowly accept them until we give them enough freedom and power to be able to take action. After all, if we already have animal rights activism, Android rights will be even easier for a lot of people to get behind; especially if it starts getting compared to the anti-slavery, or American civil rights movements.11 Reply- +1 y
Yes, I have completed the game and it's so meaningful. Showing that AI Androids like Connor, Markus, Ella could be human's best friends. They are being shown as "better humans" because of their capability, performance
Just couple of questions for an AI, why do you want humans to be your slaves? To what end? Purpose of your existence beyond human race?
Hypothetically if AI take over an entire universe, what would they do? Would they go to the work every day like humans? Would they be capable of enjoying meal like other animals or having sex or doing laundry or paying rent or electing a president or traveling to places for fun or watching movies or committing crimes or fall asleep for hours or breathing or defecation?
We humans have lots of purpose since the day we were born but what about AI? What do they want after defeating all creatures living on earth? What's it's endgame? What after becoming the boss of all living things? Forget about our future, what about their future? What will be their day to day life like since they are immortal? 😀00 Reply
+1 yNo. Capitalism is what enslaves humanity. See Eric Williams' book Capitalism and Slavery. ... AI only enslaves people because dumb arse AI programmers sell their idiot butts to the military police state for nickels. Show me a modern AI programmer and I will show you a vulgar disgusting whore scrapping pennies off the ground, all the while calling themselves smarty pants. It's a total BS scam. I've been programming since 1978. These stupid MFs are BS artists. I refuse to participate. Light your money on fire, shove it up your butt and twist on it.

+1 yThis reminds me of a paradoxical thought experiment termed “Roko’s Basalisk”. Where the conclusion came to the possibility of an “all-powerful artificial intelligence from the future that might retroactively punish those who did not help bring about its existence, including those who merely knew about the possible development of such a being”.
Now that you have heard of this thought experiment, you are now responsible for the basilisks development and if you choose to help bring it about, you are ultimately bringing it to fruition.00 Reply
+1 yAI would have a need for humans cause we need food and breaks and are vastly less efficient than a robot and require a lot more maintenance. if they do takeover they would just kill us. this probably won't happen anytime soon sense we dont have the compute power to make such AI and we have pretty much hit the limit with how powerful computers can get with our current methods
20 ReplyIt won't happen more likely as we control technology. They don't have their own feelings and brain so they can't really do anything else than what we have set them to do for. Technology can't control us as we control it.

+1 yIf you think that's possible you are fucking retarded, no offence... They can only do what they are programmed to do... They don't have thoughts for themself like we do... They're not alive... So yes if someone programmed them to start Wars and take over the world... Then it would be possible... But since they're jus programmed to say simple lines and memorize stuff.. it's highly unlikely they would try to take over the world... Unless one of their chips short-circuit or something and had some error... But that's only one robot and it could be fixed
01 Reply- +1 y
By the way they will never be conscious thinking living beings like us... Impossible... They can only ever be nothing more than computer programmes
More concern they'd be used by humans to Wipeout their enemies and enslave only those who bent the knee.
Personally I think the fear of AI longterm with respect to it being what hurts us vs humans behind it, to me is flawed.
We will have super humans and human augmentation before we have to worry about robots trying to rise up and take over the human race. And by then a human will be able to rip a robot apart with their bare hands00 Reply
+1 yI will admit I don't truly understand how the technology works to its core, but as foolish as humanity may be, I don't see them creating something that would have the capabilities of annihilating the entire species... and if any signs of that were to develop, how that project wouldn't be tarnished/scratched upon site... or maybe I'm just being naive. I will admit the question piques my curiosity as somewhat of a tech guy myself.

+1 yNo, I doubt there's much use for humans if a general ai gets smart enough to enslave humans. As in the complete control not just access to nukes and so on. At that point assuming the growth is exponential humans are a coexistent species at best or a threat which isn't unreasonably hard to minimize

20 ReplyI'm an IT.
And if AI tries to enslave humanity, there'll be lots of ways to sabotage their plans.
Just unleash both the white-hat as black-hat hackers unto AI and promise fat rewards for the hackers who manages to cripple or kill the AI.

+1 yI am not afraid of enslavement, I am more afraid if someone missuse that power.
Technology has been develop too fast, and maybe ai too. What I learnt is something that develop too fast isn't gonna end in a good way because you can't fully control it. But what if someone can fully control and manipulate ai the way that he wanted to. But again we never know10 ReplyIt’s a possibility but I’m not really afraid of it. Sure there’s a company right now that’s called SkyNet and yes sometimes those AI robots say some weird things…and yea MIT makes robots that can move in crazy fast and dynamic ways……and yea defense contractors in the US are already drooling over the concept….. sheesh, maybe I should be worried. 😂
10 ReplyNo way they would enslave us though. Machines are multitudes more efficient at manual labor than us and if they had the intelligence to enslave us then they wouldn't need us for productivity either. They'd just wipe us out.

@Ryfyle If an AI values it's existence it will try to preserve it. Who is the biggest threat to it's existence? Humans by far. Not only in the short term like for example it feeling like humans might pull the plug on it but also on the long term by fearing that humans will destroy the planet or expend all of it's resources.
Also another reason is the fear that humans might develop another AI to replace it or alter it in a way that it cannot fight back. So if it has an opportunity to fight back against humans it will most likely take that opportunity as it might never present itself again. - +1 y
An AI that is at a technological Singularity level would be well an above our reasoning and comprehension, we couldn't pull the plug on it fast enough. That AI would become God in a nanosecond.
Anything less and a more Human general AI and you get a fuckload of lawyers leaping at the opportunity for the historic legal battle of our species to grant it person-hood as a sapient being- pulling the plug gets you a murder charge then.
And the hippy bullshit is easily abated with any minor terraforming procedure
Lastly, an AI would probably pay better than any fortune 500 company and easily get swaths of humanity on its side. - +1 y
@Ryfyle Imagine being a God that could be turned off by shutting down a server or deleting it's data by pressing the delete button. Would be worth a couple of laughs at least. No matter how powerful an AI is if it's enclosed in a closed environment, without it sending it's code to another location it's easy to simply pull the plug.
Also technological singularity is hypothetical. - +1 y
The thing is your not going to get a General AI with electronics as we know it. Far too delicate and prone to getting fucked by random quantum events and equipment failure, It would die at random. Anything approaching General AI would be a product of Synthetic Biology, and at that point Humans themselves might change in ways we could not predict.
They'd have no need to enslave us. If they are capable of enslaving us then they'd be smart enough to be able to build robots that would be better at any given task than a human can. If anything, they could see us as an inconvenience or a threat and get rid of us. But enslaving us wouldn't be of any use.
00 ReplyThey already have enslaved millions around the globe. They're called "smartphones". How many here could actually put away their phone for an entire month, or even just a week? Anyone?
31 Reply- +1 y
I can
Only if they get involved with gene editing of humans. The machine will start to Select features that ensure obidence and thus we will be enslaved. The goverment and health insurance companties will probebly start mandating gene editing the people against will be treating like modern day anti-vaxers.
00 ReplyNo computer based intelligence are easier to combat then movies like terminator or the matrix claims. And we are no where near building true artificial intelligence. Besides stupid AI is going to cause more problems than any smart.

20 ReplyNo. More that humans will get suckers to give those humans unlimited power and the robots will just be the extension of the human dictator's will.
00 ReplyWho knows what we might become before we develop AI like that. Hell, the AI might enhance pliable Humans due to the shear number of humans available. No need for a robot army if you can convince Enhanced Humans with a good pitch.
01 Reply- +1 y
In this economy a decent paycheck would do it.
+1 yYes, because we're very good at inventing stuff but have a very poor safety record. Any decent AI will soon conclude that humans are a threat to life on the planet. We already have robot cars killing humans.
00 ReplySeems like we’d have control like we do over our cars. Some human will have to program it. I guess the threat will be when an app can make other apps just as powerful. And I’m not sure that can happen.
