Artificial intelligence can be boon and at same time a curse. We are still experimenting with newer forms of AI , and intregrating whatever possible with internet because it gets the job done easily. So far our experience with AI was good, but to develop an AI capable of doing stuffs shown in films such as Terminator or West world , would take years. It would all depends on what we make and how we are gonna shape it , what damage controls we would install in them , how we prevent them from attacking humans. But for now there's nothing to worry

Artificial intelligence is nothing. A machine can't do more than what it has been programmed for. It has parameters, and act between those parameters, no more. It can "learn" but it's just new informations.
Artificial consciousness is the issue. To decide what's good and what's bad, it need to be conscious. To be aware of its own existence, of the existence of humans, of the worth of our lives compared to what would happen if we disappeared, it would need to learn the concept of self-sacrifice because without us, that AI is doomed too.
See how long it takes for babies to learn about the self conscious? And they're instinctively programmed for it. So imagine how long it would take for a machine to do the same, without us noticing it.
It would need to learn to lie, to decipher human emotions so it knows if we believe its lie.
Also it would need a physical body, by millions, to do that. Even our best tanks are far from invincible.
Nothing that we call "AI" today is really an AI.

By doing so they can force you to behave the way they want by impacting your social credit score and excluding you from society as well as steal your labor by manipulating the currency algorithm to their benefit. Much of data mining revolves around aggregation and analysis of social network data volunteered by unsuspecting users which is tied to DNA analysis that is collected under the ruse of discovering your ancestry. People look for behavior patterns and cross analyze them to gene banks to determine which humans will be most servile and easily oppressed. They don’t need to use robots… People pay to give their information away so that they can be profiled, line up to get chipped, and invest their earnings into cryptocurrencies, etc. They volunteer themselves into bondage by signing their lives away on the dotted line. AI is used to profile and monitor the masses and keep them under a select group of slave masters thumbs.

Yes, but not enslave. More like come to dominate humanity. This is because people will eventually want to stop treating them as mere machines, and eventually start a movement to give them rights and recognition as "individuals".

If you've ever played (or watched the story) of "Detroit: Become Human", you'll get an idea of how easily this can happen.

I don't think the AI dominance will be of the Terminator or Matrix variant. They'll simply slide into our lives and make us slowly accept them until we give them enough freedom and power to be able to take action. After all, if we already have animal rights activism, Android rights will be even easier for a lot of people to get behind; especially if it starts getting compared to the anti-slavery, or American civil rights movements.

Just couple of questions for an AI, why do you want humans to be your slaves? To what end? Purpose of your existence beyond human race?

Hypothetically if AI take over an entire universe, what would they do? Would they go to the work every day like humans? Would they be capable of enjoying meal like other animals or having sex or doing laundry or paying rent or electing a president or traveling to places for fun or watching movies or committing crimes or fall asleep for hours or breathing or defecation?
We humans have lots of purpose since the day we were born but what about AI? What do they want after defeating all creatures living on earth? What's it's endgame? What after becoming the boss of all living things? Forget about our future, what about their future? What will be their day to day life like since they are immortal? 😀

This reminds me of a paradoxical thought experiment termed “Roko’s Basalisk”. Where the conclusion came to the possibility of an “all-powerful artificial intelligence from the future that might retroactively punish those who did not help bring about its existence, including those who merely knew about the possible development of such a being”.

AI would have a need for humans cause we need food and breaks and are vastly less efficient than a robot and require a lot more maintenance. if they do takeover they would just kill us. this probably won't happen anytime soon sense we dont have the compute power to make such AI and we have pretty much hit the limit with how powerful computers can get with our current methods

Personally I think the fear of AI longterm with respect to it being what hurts us vs humans behind it, to me is flawed.

We will have super humans and human augmentation before we have to worry about robots trying to rise up and take over the human race. And by then a human will be able to rip a robot apart with their bare hands

I will admit I don't truly understand how the technology works to its core, but as foolish as humanity may be, I don't see them creating something that would have the capabilities of annihilating the entire species... and if any signs of that were to develop, how that project wouldn't be tarnished/scratched upon site... or maybe I'm just being naive. No, I doubt there's much use for humans if a general ai gets smart enough to enslave humans. As in the complete control not just access to nukes and so on. At that point assuming the growth is exponential humans are a coexistent species at best or a threat which isn't unreasonably hard to minimize

Technology has been develop too fast, and maybe ai too. What I learnt is something that develop too fast isn't gonna end in a good way because you can't fully control it. But what if someone can fully control and manipulate ai the way that he wanted to. But again we never know

They'd have no need to enslave us. If they are capable of enslaving us then they'd be smart enough to be able to build robots that would be better at any given task than a human can. If anything, they could see us as an inconvenience or a threat and get rid of us. But enslaving us wouldn't be of any use.
