As of now until the 30th, I'll enjoy the last breath of summer vacation before work and my Masters resume. And I'll spend it roadtripping through the country.

Brahe castle. To one of the oldest noble houses in Sweden, House Brahe, who exerted much influence over the realm.

I'm just starting my summer holiday this week, but I did visit some sights in Helsinki the past weekend, most not so historical, though. Me and my sister we're planning to do some extended weekend type of domestic travelling during my vacation, but since I have my holiday so late, most of the people I could travel with are at work. I possibly don't want to risk the covid situation by travelling alone, but could take the time to revisit the historical sites in my own city, although I have visited most of them in the past.

Finland has gorgeous landscape in winter but otherwise it differs little from Swedish nature, no?

I don't think it differs much at all, except there are absolutely no mountains in Finland.

Yes, I went to a Royal palace called Reggia di Caserta. Then I went to " La citta` antica di Capua" which is an ancient city. But for the most part, I went to castles and ancient churches.

Italy is history central for a nerd like me, like a kid in a candy shop. :) Visiting Rome is on my bucket list!

We have a few places in South Africa but the only one I've actually been to was Table Mountain. Here is what happened :

We went to Philadelphia recently and saw many many historical sites. Phillie is a historically rich city and the buildings and statues are beautiful. I was happy to see that they weren't destroyed by Antifa

Yes, but it's a big country and I only have so much time.

That's a good thing. You can do some in one trip and save the rest for other ones.

Some of them. But not nearly enough. The problem is that the best ones are expensive to get into.

Yeah, luckily enough many parishes here in Sweden keep ruins and such free of charge. Like Brahe castle. They get enough turism as it is I suppose.

No, it concern a few decades back as well.

A park for example in the town I visited. Erected in the fifties which lifted the entire community in tourism.

Went to Europe in 2019 and saw 1000 yr historical landmarks as opposed to US’s 100 yr. Kinda weird.

Not weird really. Europe is thousands of years old, the US is a little over 500.

There is not much to see here in Australia.
Architecture and recorded history did not exist before 1788.
