Have you ever been to Istanbul?

I've seen Istanbul in some TV series and YouTube videos and it looks amazing. The food looks delicious and the city looks very beautiful.

If you've ever been there, how was the food, people, and the attractive places? What did you like the most about the city?

I love Istanbul. Oddly enough the people who actually live there aren't nearly as fond of it due to crowded conditions. Even so, the food is great, there is history at every step, and the people are friendly, except for the carpet salesmen, who are a pain in the ass.
It's also a great place to get your shoes shinned!

Of course. It is the most interesting city I have ever walked in. The architecture, the Bosporus, the largest outdoor market in the world, etc.

It is amazing to see the clash of Asian, European, and Turkish architecture, culture, etc.

İstanbul is not as good as it seems. İstanbul is huge and 16 million people live in it. That's why there are so many structures. And unfortunately none of them are robust enough. İstanbul is in danger of extinction due to the "Great Marmara Earthquake" expected to occur in the future. I think you should be wondering about other cities instead of Istanbul. Eskişehir, Nevşehir, Ankara, İzmir, Afyonkarahisar, Muğla, Aydın, Mardin, Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır, Bartın, Sinop, Kastamonu etc. These are cities that are at least as beautiful as İstanbul.

In fact, there is not a single city that I like, there are many cities. My favorite cities are located in The Aegean Region. So I will answer as follows; I like the cities in The Aegean Region more. And the most popular and well-known city of this Region is İzmir. In other words, we can say that it is the capital of The Aegean Region. But other The Aegean Region cities such as a like Muğla, Aydın, Manisa, Afyonkarahisar, Uşak, Denizli, Kütahya etc. are also awesome cities. By the way, I don't know where you are from (but i really curious, where are you from?). But you can feel at home in İzmir. İzmir is a kind of Europe of Turkey. İzmir is the most free and secular city in Turkey. I don't understand why foreign people insist so much on İstanbul. whereas İzmir is a freer city than İstanbul.

I stayed in El Shamoot village outside of Cairo (200 miles from Alexandra) and also visited Cairo and Banha I lived there awhile for I was married to a Muslim man. xx
