If you had the chance would your rather go to Greece or Turkey for a holiday?

I was lucky enough to visit both countries before and both of them have positive and negative aspects to them.

If I go on holidays, I don't just go to lie on a beach and roast the entire day. When I go somewhere, it is because I want to know about history, the people, the architecture, the language, sample local food.

Now, both Greece and Turkey are tie when it comes to all those things that interest me. In terms of friendliness of the locals, again, both are par because their Mediterranean hospitality is about equal.

However, I will chose Greece over Turkey but only because of one single detail and this detail only.

In Istanbul, I have been victim of an attempted scam and only by menacing to call the police did the scammer let go. I never had a bad experience in Greece.

But that one single negative experience does not mean it could not happen in Greece either.

I would go to Greece. It attracts me more than Turkey, it has beautiful landscapes, delicious food and I have a friend who lives there. I would like to meet him in person.

I’d have to say Greece. I’m not that interested in Turkey (nothing against it, it just doesn’t really interest me that much) but I wouldn’t mind checking out Istanbul. I mean it’s a city that is thousands of years old. It’d be cool to see the history. Plus I like Turkish food.

I've been to both of them, and I would revisit both of them. I prefer Greece though, because it seems like everyone in Turkey is out to rip you off. So in terms of attractions and geography, I liked Turkey better. But Greece has better people and laws.

I went to Turkey during a cruise and liked it more than Greece but we were only in the best cities so I’m not sure if the whole country is that way.

Turkey, I think land is safe just need to see sea from the land.
Greece is more related to sea not feel safe.
