How to move from Australia to America permanently?

As the question asks, how do I move to America as a resident? I have done some research about visas. To go for a holiday from here to America, a visa is not needed. I don't have a job there yet, and am not planning for schooling just yet. I am planning to work there first when I find a job, and then think about attending university. My boyfriend has recently moved back to America (he is an American citizen, but had a working visa here). I will be moving and staying with him. But how does this work? What type of visa do I need? Please help. I don't know anything about moving. If there is any information you can provide for me, that would be helpful. Thank you.

Your best bet is a work visa. Once you obtain that, the fastest route is either marriage or joining the U. S. Navy (they are currently the only branch that will assist you in getting U. S. citizenship). The military does not guarantee U. S. citizenship, but if you are a non-citizen who can legally join the military then they will help you with the citizenship test. You will not allowed to get any job that requires a security clearance (medical, IT, Intel, etc.) but you can get jobs like cook. The military can assist with getting a green card. I know a shipmate I went to Basic Training with who was from Africa who did this.

The military route is not a guarantee to work as it is up to the authorities of that branch, but the path does exist.

Thank you. That was very informative and helpful. However, I cannot apply to work in the military. I am moving there for my boyfriend and don't want to be distanced from him. Especially if we have kids one day. I might as well stay here and then go and visit him and spend as much time as I can with him until I am required to return. I appreciate the help. Do you know any other ways? I could get a work Visa, but what if I don't find a job? I think it is going to be harder getting a job with my only experience being a home business. It will also be hard getting a job there while I am here.

Given your reply, my other suggestion would be the student visa route, but the danger to that is if you have not found a path to citizenship yet by the time you finish school.

Unless u invest a mil dollars into a US company or u are super smart or ur parents or siblings are US citizens it is very unlikely u will be possible to move to the US maybe marryig ur American boyfriend is the most likely option i guess

Thank you. I was almost certain it was going to be more difficult than expected. We have spoken about marriage because of this. I just don't want him to feel as though he needs to marry me so we can be together. But that may only be the choice. I will continue to discuss this with him. It's so complicating and frustrating. The difficulties of love, right?
