No. As recently as a couple years ago I wanted to, but not anymore. It's not even about the war, I was surrounded by Russian tourists in Turkey for 2 weeks and No, just no. I've never met such self-centered, arrogant and hateful people. They hated Americans even before the war, and they aren't shy about sharing what they think of you. It's almost like they're deliberately looking to provoke a fight.
I do like Russian culture, but after my experience with them, no just no. Plus, I don't want to go to a country where I have to go through such a tedious Visa procedure, and be told where I can and can't go.

Maybe if I'm ever in Finland, I will hop over to St. Petersburg for a day, as you don't need a Visa. But as far as dishing out thousands of dollars for a proper Russian holiday, no just no. I'd rather spend my money on places that are more interesting and don't hate me.

For Americans, obtaining a Russian visa is a complicated and time-consuming process, so I never made the trip. Big mistake, because as things currently stand, it is highly unlikely I'll be visiting Russia anytime soon.
