New York, Boston, Montreal was a great 18-21 timeframe trips. Montreal is out there though. Toronto is fun. This is tourist fun and not Nature spots.

If you're a US citizen or Pernament resident you 100% do not need a Visa
Passport however, I'm not sure. You used to be able to visit without one, but that changed in the last years of the Bush administration, so I have no clue what the policy is anymore, even more so with Covid. I THINK you can still cross by land without one, but better to be safe then sorry

For sure. I did a test run at 14 for cultural family thing. Anywhere, in South America is fine. I’m going to suggest that you get a “passport” styled drivers license renewal. It will be easier to do official paperwork for Passport. And for things like jobs a passport is is more impressionable than DMV. “You’ve traveled and have knowledge of world.” Do the paper over weekend. By Christmas, you will have one. It is worth the time… 🎉
