Does anyone know if the Kia Rio is good in the snow?

Where do you live?

I own a 2020 KIA Soul EX. I live in Missouri and snow is mostly a non-issue here, but, its first winter of 2019-2020, it was in the Northeast USA where we have major snowstorms. It did fine, so I expect that a Rio would be OK... especially in a place like Missouri where "nor'easters" or "lake effect snow" (like in Buffalo NY) are non-existent.

If you live in a place like Buffalo or anywhere in New York State near the Great Lakes, you want a tank... anything with 8 cylinders, 4WD, and a shitload of clearance... the kind of vehicle that the US Army wanted and thus begat the Humvee.

If I ever live in upstate NY or New England again, I am getting this:

Lol yeah winters there are brutal. I like in NJ thankfully. It’s bad but not that bad.

A friend of mine has one, and it does alright, if you know how to drive in the snow. It's not necessarily any better, or worse, than any comparable vehicle.

It's FWD, so it will generally be better than a RWD, but worse than AWD, or 4WD. It's mostly dependant on the driver's skill, and how good your tires are, but given the same driver & tires, the Kia Rio would be roughly the middle of the pack, as far as capability goes.

If it's just mild snow, you'd be fine, but it won't handle deep snow nearly as well as some other vehicles would be able to.
