What’s the best and the worst countries you have ever travelled to?

Best Country: Italy... OMG THE FOOD AND THE WINE!

Worst Country: India... As Raj said, "It's so hot and there's so many people!" Honestly India's not a bad country. Save for being stared at 24/7 for being a tall casperly girl, there's a lot of culture there. Different regions have different languages and it was hard to keep up. Only reason I say it was the worst was just because of the heat and traffic. My heart was wanting out of my body when traveling through the mountains

I love Italy, not the cities but the countryside. Amazing food, wine and lovely people. Canada is great too as the people were super friendly. I've never been in a horrible place by choice, but Mexico is scary as fuck once you leave the heavily touristed areas. I know there are far worse places in the world, but I've never been there.

I just spent two weeks in Italy and I partially agree with you. The countryside is definitely the place to be. Venice and Pisa were very pleasant cities, but Rome I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

@KostasKouvalis The problem with going to Italy if you've never been there is the tendency to do the "required cities", and most people don't have enough vacation time to do cities and small towns. Rome is great if you know what you're doing. You get in and see the vital sites and you get out. The Sistine Chapel is breathtaking, and I wouldn't have wanted to miss that. There's nothing much to see in Pisa, and Venice is a tourist trap as is Florence. Get in, get out. Italy is all about the countryside. Once you've done the cities, spending two to three weeks in various parts of Tuscany, Umbria, or Aosta is the way to go!

Yeah, I would not recommend spending more than 3 days in Rome. Agree on Florence, disagree on Pisa (though one day is enough). I disagree on Venice, though I feel 2 days is enough. One day for the city center, one day for the lagoon islands. Though it wouldn't be a bad base point for exploring the north and neighboring cities.

We did visit Tivoli, but aside from that, we ended up hitting the major tourist sites, which you're right is kinda unavoidable. I see I would have been happier on Lake Garda, but then I would regret not seeing places like Pompeii, Amalfi Coast and Rome.

I was originally gonna go to Puglia, but Rome was cheaper and had better connections and I saw I could day trip to other cities from there. The problem with Italy is everything is too spread out. If I went to Puglia, day trips would be no more than 1 or 2 hours. But I didn't wanna to the same thing I did with Spain, where I only went to Catalonia and didn't feel like I saw Spain. Plus like you said, as you as you mention you're going to Italy, people immediately ask you if you're going to Rome and Venice. You tell them Puglia, "What the hell is Puglia?"

I definitely still wanna visit the Alps

@KostasKouvalis This is why I've been to Italy 12 times, the longest stay being 5 weeks. I've been to Sicily and everywhere on the mainland except Calabria and the northeastern part of Italy above Venice. Going to try some of the islands next. We always go for at least 3 weeks now and really get into an area.

Oh are you the guy that has family there? It's different if you're staying with family. I personally prefer not to return to countries I've already been to, unless I can see a new country for there.
Canada and Mexico I don't mind going back to to see other parts, 'cuz they are right next door, but if I'm gonna fly further, I prefer to visit countries I've never been to.
Like if I go to the Italian Alps now, I will most likely end up just doing it for a few days as part of a larger itinerary instead of making a special trip
