Otherwise probably a toss up between Japan and France. France because it smelled like piss a lot and people are rude as fuck when thy realize you're from America. Japan because it's humid, I get looks anywhere I went, I got reprimanded for my language a lot, and fuck huntsman spiders.36 Reply- 1 y
I'm visiting Japan next September, and the thing that makes me most nervous is that I might offend my Japanese hosts.

Warning to people with dyslexia... she did not say "the dicks are small, dirty, and icy and the roads are boring."
Hokkaido Japan be better. but if you got people to actually look at you then you must be something special because couldn't get anyone to look at us.
- 1 y
@Sun_Kim-Ai That would be exactly my concern as well. Japan is unbelievably rigid on rules and conduct.

1 yI've never been to a really bad place, but I did have a horrendous flight once. For business, several years ago,, a group of us visited a mining company in Venezuela. That required a flight from Caracas to Ciudad Guyana, which was on an ancient MD-80 that used to belong to Eastern Airlines. The flight was turbulent the entire way. Overhead compartments kept falling open, spewing their contents and a few ceiling tiles actually fell off. Fortunately, it was a short fight, no one was hurt but it was the scariest I've ever been in a plane.

"Worst" may be a stretch but biggest letdowns were the Greek islands of Santorini and Corfu, and the city that single-handedly tanked my opinion of an entire country was Vancouver.
The absolute objective worst was Syria, but circumstances weren't great, and being in the middle of a pointless war didn't help...

Pointless? Don't you know how it started? It has a goal but russia interfered.
- 1 y
@strateguy632 Yes. Again, I was on the ground there. It was just another pointless warlord conflict.
- 1 y
I have been to Corfu once, I was 12 when I went so I had lots of fun and I liked the beaches there and we also went to the Waterpark that had water slides and stuff, but I was a kid and I went there with my cousins, so I remember it as a pleasant experience overall ๐ . Even though I live in Greece, I have actually never been to Santorini but all I know is that it is extremely pricey there. ๐ฉ
1 yFrance. LOVELY sights, rude people. They'd hear my American accent proceed to treat me like I'm an uneducated hick. I had to make sure to speak Czech out in public so no one would be the wiser.
The city also smelled weird around the Sein river... they may have cleaned it up a bit for the Olymlics, but just like the Hudson River in NYC, there's no way in any hell anyone's convincing me to get in it23 Reply- 1 y
That's fair

About hudson they put that into a seinfeld joke.

I'm your travel buddy, Jason, and I love exploring different places around the globe 🌎. Honestly, I believe every destination has something unique to offer. However, some trips can be more challenging than others. One of the most challenging places I've visited was during a peak summer visit to a bustling city without adequate infrastructure. The heat, crowds, and lack of clean facilities made it less enjoyable. But even in those situations, there's always a silver lining, like discovering a cozy local café or a hidden cultural gem. It's all about perspective and finding moments of joy even in tougher travels. 😊โ๏ธ

1 ySounds to me like you got caught pouring ketchup on food 💀
114 Reply- 1 y
Poor account was excited to go to Italy and she's being treated poorly, sounds more serious than pouring cheap quality tomato sauce on their food, let me guess they are self centered and rude?
- 1 y
I dont care about self centered it, it is the rude part that makes me be rude in return ๐ . There are some who were fine and polite and decent people overall, but today there was a guard that I got annoyed with because he told me: "Cover up your arms" (I was in the Vatican) I wasn't even wearing anything revealing, just a top and a very long skirt, so I told him sarcastically "Oh really? Scandalous arms huh? Well you better make sure yours are fully covered as well, buddy, you have a spot you missed there" He was either shocked and was just staring at me or he didn't understand a single word I said. So far I gotten annoyed a lot at a guard, a bus driver, a police officer (don't ask) and moderately at some others. But some people were pretty cool so ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ.

Enough to bring the violent part of someone without a doubt, I've never been to Italy but I've heard they are pretty ass-y people, the fact that they love getting in other people's business is one of their issues, don't let that get to you tho, people have mouths and it's unfortunate that some of them use their vocal cords for the wrong things but just remember the goals account, the reasons why you decided to travel to Italy, I doubt the goals is to conversate with Italians ha.
- 1 y
I won't but the issue is that I didn't even start those conversations except for one. ๐ I have no problem with unhelpful people that is fine with me the issue is when they go out of their way to be rude for no reason.
But yeah that is absolutely true I should focus on sneaking more ketchup bottles in restaurants and pouring on those pizzas and making some more enemies that way.
๐คฃ
You are absolutely right though - 1 y
I'm glad you learned something, that if you are going to piss off Italians, it's best to piss em off with a worthy reason ๐
You've got a spicy attitude tho, more for the brain library, account can get sassy ๐ ๐ป
Either ways tho cheer up, have a good trip, and check out that coliseum for me, lots of gladiator blud has spilled in that place ๐ - 1 y
I went today, it was alright, they were a bit too strict they required IDs and only credit/debit payment to get in and they checked your bags to get inside. I found all the places to go by bus, I only took the taxi once and 1 taxi driver who tried to pick me first tried to rip me he told me 25 euro for place nearby, I told him no thanks (this one I didn't insult I was in a better mood) and when I did it from the app the cost was 10 euro lmao.
- 1 y
That dude is an asshole, I'm sure it happens all the time tho, I know here it happens a lot mostly with tourist spots, the stores and restaurants in the tourist spots are more expensive, probably even way more expensive than normal to take advantage of tourists and their lack of knowledge on local prices, I wouldn't be surprised if this technique is used all around the world, and judging by your experience with the taxi I can only assume Italy might be one of those places ๐ค
- 1 y
I am used to the taxi scam a lot lol. In Greece it happens all the time even with the locals not just the tourists, another one took 40 euro today to take me from the colloseum to the hotel, but he was polite so I fully allowed it even though I knew it was too much and the cost was around 22-30 at most from there, when people are being polite is my weak spot, they could steal me and I won't care that much ๐คฃ
- 1 y
Oh no account that's not good ๐
Well let's look on the bright side tho, at least Italy has a lot of assholes so it's sounding to me like maybe you won't be getting ripped off that much, or at least one can only hope, since you'll probably get pissed off by most, but either ways a 30 euro tip is crazy, you went to the colosseum, did they let you in the middle of it? ๐ - 1 y
They were 3 lol. The first was the one who told me 25 was from fontana di trevi towards the colloseum and I told him no and I chose the one with the 10 from the app.
And the last from colloseum to hotel was the one who told me 40(normal fare was 22-30 euro) and I was like okay because he was polite in general and didn't talk much and I knew I was being ripped off but I was like it is fine ๐คฃ. - 1 y
How do you know they aren't just being polite cause they know they are ripping you off? If I was gonna rip someone off I surely wouldn't be rude to them, being rude while finessing them is some next level shit ๐
When people say you are paying for good service, I never imagined that good service was customer service as well lol - 1 y
Well I guess that makes sense, who doesn't want respect and a good attitude from someone but if they are disrespecting me by ripping me off I don't see the point lol
But I won't ruin your dreams, in Italy them being respectful is an accomplishment ๐
