I sure do look both ways at a rail crossing. I was rundown by a car I never saw coming. I sure don't want to be run down by a train.
A train would suck & alway make sure you look.
Looking both ways would be an understatement. I stop my car, double check then cross like the OPPS are after me.
Safety first especially if you have passengers in your vehicle. Bravo on stopping & looking both ways.
If there are no gates, yes. If there are gates, nope.
Good deal & always take a look.
Sometimes I look all four ways.
That would flocking suck, look at those tracks!

Oh yes! I had a close call once when the lights didn't come on and the arm didn't come down. Now I know not to trust the signals.
It’s like nowadays we get so used to relying on technology & when that technology fails or in our case the signals fail to work hopefully luck is on your side & you don’t shit your pants.
Right!
only if it's out where i live. they don't have barriers or lights out here so you kind of have to. luckily the road is open around them so you can see with your periphery

I am usually too busy watching out for idiot drivers to worry about the train. I just assume the gates are working. Probably not the smartest thing.
If it had no gates I would but they don’t have any without by me
As for me I have gates where I live & surprisingly the gates didn’t work during rush hour traffic & the train sounded the horn.
That’s dangerous and rare if they don’t work
@Static_In_The_Attic That happened to me once too. The horn sounded as I was crossing the track. The train was so close that I couldn't see the top of it.
