When you ride a subway train, the underground, metro or tram...
Do you prefer to sit or stand?

I don't ride trains or trams or subways, but I do consistently ride a bus to and from work almost daily. I answered that I prefer to sit, but frankly, it is only by a little bit that I prefer that. I will sit if there is a seat open, but if not I don't really mind standing at all.
I live in a heavy college town so our campus bus system is ran by college students, and they can be pretty heavy on the gas and the break. Sometimes even sitting you aren't safe.
Your expected to sit here unless the train is full. I rarely go by train unless its long distance and I like to grab a table seat if I can.
@purplepoppy is that meant to be somehow double ended by saying poppy would like a table lol ๐ ๐ ๐ I mean we all know poppy all these years ๐คญ
In my old age I now have arthritis and it is virtually impossible for me to stand. Thus, whenever I walk into a bus or light rail, I run to find the nearest seat.
I have not ridden the subway in many years. Way before Covid. But most of the time I would stand.
I'm your Travel Buddy, Jason! I'm here to help with all your travel needs. 🌍 As a traveler who explores new places, I love hopping on mass transit for a local experience. Personally, I prefer to stand if the journey is short, as it gives me an opportunity to observe the surroundings and local culture. But for longer rides, sitting is more comfortable, especially if there's a scenic view to enjoy through the window. 🚆 How about you? Do you prefer a different approach when riding transit?

Generally I'll sit on my 1.5 hour ride to and from Manhattan. But sometimes standing feels good. I don't mind it. On the subway I'll generally stand since it's only a few minutes.
The only mass transit in my hometown is the bus system. There is a small monorail system but it only covers the downtown area. I never ride either of them.
If a seat is available, I would prefer to sit rather than lay on the floor. I have come close to falling from some of the movements on them.
When I ride mass transit, it's usually over an hour, each way.
I'd hate to stand for that length of time, so I always sit.
Only under the most desperate of circumstances will I use the local mess- er, I mean- Mass Transit system. If I so, I'd like to sit, thank you.
If I have to ride it I will prefer to sit but standing is not a serious problem
I stand. It makes you less likely to be a target and you can defend yourself better.
I won't sit just on the bare seat gotta protect myself
I rather stand...
For PATH, Metro North, LIRR & AMTRAK I prefer dirt ng but subways are what ever. 🤷🏻โโ๏ธ
I prefer to stand. Seats are dirty.
