Do you instantly recognize your bag at airport baggage claims?

You've seen the signs at the airport baggage claim "Please check the tag against your claim check as many bags look alike." No doubt someone has made off with the wrong bag a few times in history, but for the most part it just doesn't happen these days.

No, all bags do not look alike. The ninety or so black roller bags that circle on the conveyor belt may seem to look alike, but we can usually tell at a glance which one is ours. The colored yarn on the handle, the sticker, the broken handle, the tear or smudge from rough handling, etc. all give our bag a distinctive look we recognize instantly. There's no mistaking my bag for anyone else's - it's the only bag that looks like Holstein cow print with duct tape on the front to cover a crack from the airlines' handling.
