I've been to Vancouver and I live close to Redding and have been there many times. I will go with Redding.
I'm genuinely SHOCKED to see Redding on a poll like thus. It's by no means a mainstream town
That was the whole idea. Many people prefer small towns over big cities.
I meant more that I'm surprised you've heard of it
I've been in redding and it sucks. Vancouver, where I have also been, is much nicer.
I live in Vancouver. Interesting, I thought Redding is beautiful, but thought pretty much the rest of California that I saw sucked. Nothing is worse than LA 🤮
I live in LA and it's kind of a mixed bag. Malibu where I live is nice, and downtown LA is a shithole as is most of the SF Valley.
There are 4 north-south highways in CA. Highway 1, PCH, runs along the beach and is arguably the most beautiful drive in the US. The 101 is east of the 1, is very pretty, and goes through a lot of beautiful wine and horse country. Also a great drive. The 5, east of the 1 and 101 goes through the central valley and is really ugly but very fast. I drive it at night so as to miss the ugliness. Last, the 99, east of all the other roads, is the oldest highway in CA and is in shitty condition, but passes through some interesting areas.
East of the 99 is the Sierra Nevada mountains, with many small towns and incredible scenery - I've not been there much and don't know the roads well, but it's on my bucket list.
With the exception of Hawaii, California is the most beautiful state in the US, and beats the hell out of any flyover red state you care to mention.
California definitely has some beautiful parts, I won’t disagree there. It’s a cool place to see and all, but many people would disagree with that statement. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. What’s considered beautiful to you might not be to someone else, and vice versa. I wasn’t gonna go political, but you asked for it. California and NY remain two of the most moved out states in US, while Texas and Florida both continue to have some of the highest influx of people. Turns out having extremely high gas prices and outrageous housing costs will drive people out of your state. Who would have thought? Facts are facts, sir.
I don't think it's necessarily political but you are not wrong in what you said about California. High gas prices are a fact of life here as our high housing prices. These things in and of themselves are not political in nature but more economic. That said, for many people they present barriers and make other places more attractive primarily for economic reasons. However, the high gas prices, the high housing prices and honestly the high tax rate does not affect everybody equally. I live in California because I can afford it and because I enjoy it and because it's worth it to me. This is not true for everybody else but it doesn't intrinsically make California any less desirable for everyone.
Dude…California has some of the worst air quality in the country. Lol!
I love the rain, so I’m right where I belong 😊
A lot of people are like that. I’m the total opposite. Excessive sunshine is instant depression for me

Nice scenery but that’s more for like a summer vacation. I’ll take my Miami Dolphins and my Miami city with entertainment
Ok Miami is the ultimate winner. Gun to head, where between these two?
