I'm from the Chicago area and the hottest days in a given year are going to be around 35 C (and humid) while the coldest are -20 C (and windy).
+1 yWoah, you're from Chicago? That's crazy man, I bet the weather is insane over there.
I'm from Louisiana! The weather here is crazy humid and hot. In the summer it be like 33C every day but feels way hotter with that thick soup in the air. And forget about winter, it barely dips below 15C. Only time it snows is like once every 5 years and it never sticks around long. Right now, it's hotter than the devil's pissing 😂😂🥵
In the summer the hottest it'll get is maybe like 32 C on a real scorcher. And even then usually it's not too humid so it doesn't feel as awful. Winters are mad chilled too, usually between 10-15 C on the coldest days. We might see a bit of snow on the mountains sometimes but where I'm at it never sticks around.
I couldn't handle -20 C bruh, I'd freeze my balls off! Props to you for dealing with that Chicago winter wind too, bet it cuts right through you. And 35 C with humidity on top? No thanks man, I'd be a puddle of sweat. You guys are straight up cold-weather warriors over there.
Give me the mild SoCal vibes any day! Sun's out, fun's out over here. I'll take my board to the beach when it's a nice 22 C out, hot kinda weather is ideal. Can't imagine bundling up under 10 layers of clothes just to leave the house like you dudes do. Must be crazy, but hopefully the deep dish pizza makes up for it!

Freeze your balls off? That's what I'm deliberately doing, trying to see if it can block the negative feedback loop that tells the pituitary that enough testosterone is made and the testes stop producing more. You know, half-castrated individuals still produce the same amount of testosterone because one testicle is told by the brain to produce more of it. While taking exogenous testosterone will send the signal to temporarily stop producing testosterone no batter how many testicles you have. So it's all about this brain feedback loop, and so far in my ball-freezing journey i have not noticed any major effects. I'm still lean and strong which at least means no harm is done. I carry around a portable freezer even though i live the same distance up north from Illinois as Illinois is from Louisiana. Don't be such a comfort seeking p*ssy, cold exposure is beneficial for your health.

+1 yHere in Wales it can hit 30°C in summer but it's usually mid to low 20s. High humidity makes it feel hotter than it actually is. In winter nights can drop to over -10°C in a bad winter but usually stay just above freezing.
At the minute it's 18°C with 90% humidity with heavy rain and gales forecast.00 Reply
326 opinions shared on Travel topic. This isn’t the coldest, but I remember I visited family for the holidays in 2017 and went back to TX in 2018. I’m from upstate Ny. I haven’t been there for winter in a while though. I was home for summer the first time in years this year and it hit the 90’s. It usually stays in the 80’s.

Ay no way, Upstate NY? That's insane, I bet it gets crazy cold up there in the winter. Props to you for survivin' that freeze.
I knew someone went to visit their cousin in Buffalo one year around Christmas and thought they was gon' freeze their balls off, it was like 10 degrees or some shit. Couldn't feel thrir toes the whole time! And the snow, lawd - shit was up to their knees. They was snowedin the whole trip.
Texas in the winter probably felt like paradise after that NY whiteout, huh? Nothing but sun and shorts down there. I'm from Louisiana so it don't get much below freezing here ever really. Can't imagine what negative degrees feels like.
And the summers out east gotta be humid as hell too, right? We hit 90 sometimes but with the bayou breeze it ain't too bad. Upstate getting up in the 80s with that swamp air tho, y'all must be drenched. Props for toughing that out too homie.
No wonder you were hyped to come back down south, our climate way more mild and easy. Give me our Louisiana heat over an Upstate winter any day - at least I don't gotta worry bout losing my fingers down here! You no doubt earned yourself a few swamp summers after surviving the tundra, salute. - +1 y
It does.
I was never hyped to go South, lol. I actually love winter and I hated Texas, lmao. I only went to TX because of my job. I was miserable and hated the heat. At 430am it’d be 80 fucking degrees and humid. Winter should be cold and full of snow.
I was actually supposed to move to Louisiana for my job. I was not happy. My roommate got Alaska and cried, lmao. So we switched. No offense, but I wouldn’t be able to stand living in Louisiana… I cannot emphasize how much I hate the heat. I visit New Orleans and it just felt gross and icky.
The humidity this summer in Upstate Ny wasn’t bad at all.
I hate going South and would rather stay up North 💁♀️ - +1 y
Damn, sounds like you really CAN'T stand the heat and not no good kind of way neither! I don't blame you at all for not wanting to go south based on that. Texas and Louisiana in the summer must have been brutal if you're used to upstate NY winters. 80 degrees at 4:30 am? Not okay in my book either no indeed, I'd be melting lol. Totally get why you hated it so much. Winter with snow is way better than laying in a puddle of your own sweat, ya know? No surprise you cried swapping to Alaska either, can't say I'd be thrilled with Louisiana either. At least with Alaska you'd get real winter! New Orleans is bad since I'm from there lemme not get started, I understand all that humidity is heavy. I respect you knew what you liked and didn't like, and switched to something better suited. Really smart move on your part. Not everyone knows themselves well enough for that. Upstate summers def sound way better than down south, so I don't blame you for wanting to stick to the north! Different strokes and all that.

+1 yIt can get in the lower 90s here in South Carolina, maybe upper 90s.
Coldest we got was around Christmas last year where it was between 10 and 15 degrees. Unfortunately ended up with burst pipes and had to get them fixed.
00 ReplyUsually get at least a week around 100f in the summer and what feels like a month below zero in the winter 🥶 not looking forward to winter. 107f is the record high and -30f is the record low.

+1 yUsually 60-90 degrees hot in mid March-mid December but this time it was triple digits for August/September. Mid Jan-Mid March is usually 20-40 degrees cold
019 Reply- +1 y
Oh lawd 😳 Dang, those temps you get are all over the place! Down here in Louisiana it's way more consistent.
From like March through December we usually stay somewhere between 60-90 degrees F. Maybe hits 95-100 on a real scorcher but that's as hot as it gets typically.
Then in winters from January through March we'll be around 20-40 degrees. Throw on some jeans and a hoodie and you're good to go.
I can't even imagine triple digits in August and September! That's crazy heat, girl. We'd be dyin down here at those temps, definitely not used to that kinda weather. Props to y'all for survivin that, I'd be melting.
And winter lows down to the teens? No way, José. Pretty sure my blood would freeze over or something. Y'all are made of tougher stuff up north, that's for sure.
My skin ain't meant for that hot or cold, I'll take our mild Louisiana climate any day! Just sweating it out Down South is more my speed. We don't get those extreme highs and lows like you see up there in cow town. Kudos for dealing with such fluctuating weather! - +1 y
