Where would you rather stay as a Solo Traveler : Villa or a hotel?

Villa has a private pool looking over the nice views and is at a nice place with some other neighboring villas.

I feel like villa would be a perfect spot for me, but hotel would probably be safer as a solo traveler.

The KT Guest House in Bangkok. It's cheap, but no AC. Crank that ceiling fan! lol

But fancy hotels or resorts are boring. I want to go talk to the nice lady on the sidewalk selling sticky rice and chicken. I talked to guys in the North that were shooting fish in a canal. They were using air guns, and the arrows were made out of spokes from a bicycle wheel. This is how they fed their family. The guys loved that I was videoing them. They asked me if I wanted to try and shoot a carp, but I said: Mai Dee (not good)

I meant that my shooting was not good, and they all laughed. Stuff like that is priceless. You will never catch me on a cruise ship.

I bought some sausage from a street vendor. I would never eat the shit, but my intent was to feed homeless dogs. (there are a lot of them) crap, the dogs were running from me. lol

At one point, I had two security guards trying to help me feed a dog. It's pretty bad when starving dogs won't even eat the Thai sausage. lol

You can't trade experiences like that for anything a resort or hotel has to offer. There's nothing like drinking a Heineken while riding an elephant. My cousin and I were in a city in the South, and we found an elephant that could swing a hula hoop and play a harmonica at the same time. Dang!

And as far as safety... we felt more safe in Bangkok than in most American cities.

Definitely hotel. I like the security of hotels and the front desk always has recommendations. Plus I get points 😛

I’m not a fan of pools, but hotels have them as well.

I feel like a villa would be good for a honeymoon, but not for solo travel. You’ll be out exploring Thailand, eating Thai food. Not staying in your room.

I don't really need a villa for one person, especially since I'm just gonna sleep there. Depending on the destination, I might rent an apartment, but ideally I prefer to stay in a Western style hotel, regardless of whether I'm traveling solo or not

But Villa has its own yard, private swimming pool, looking over the great views, outdoors bathtub, is 110 square meters big with lots of nice spots to cozy in.

See, I don't know if I'd need all that stuff though. There's also the added hassle of having to buy your own food and do your own laundry. If I did rent a villa, it would only be in a Western country

If its just me then i personally would go with whatevers cheaper lol. i like to be frugal. But that pic looks nice though.

I stayed in a high end resort on Maui in 2016. had this huge swimming pool with a slide for the kids. lotta fun!

If I was going somewhere solo... I would say a nice hotel better chance of hooking up. Now, what would I prefer? I would prefer a nice private villa with someone special.

Depends how much your are going to be out and about. If you are trying to always be going somewhere judt get a hotel, otherwise villa is probably better as its way nicer.

I’d go to a hotel for the added security and safety. But if I was going with a friend or friends, a villa would be nice!

I'd probably go for the Villa. Depends on how long I'd stay in that spot as well, it's easier to get help if needed at a hotel I suppose

My SO and I stayed at a Villa in a remote area of Tuscany. Much better than any 5-star hotel. Clean air, beautiful views, and so relaxing.

I'd rather stay to the villa actually, but if it came down to a hotel or nothing of course I take a hotel

Whichever has the most comfortable seating and bedding for my shoulder. I hate soft mattresses and furniture. Firm as possible is the way for me.

I’d probably be a guy down on the beach rather than lounging by a pool next to an ocean.
