I've lived in CA for most of my life, but briefly lived in CO too. Maybe I'm a little biased, but had the opportunity to explore a lot of California, and I say California, because California also has coastline and is overall more geographically diverse than Colorado.

Southern California is just miles and miles of congested highways and smog. Northern California is nature, and deserves to be its separate state.. Overall, California can't hold a candle to the beautiful and natural mountains of Colorado.

However, the mountainous chunks of California when you get away from the southern ~half and the coastline are just as pretty.

Haven't been to either one yet, but from what I've seen of Colorado in the docu vids, it has more beauty than CA.
