Do Americans realize how jaw-dropping beautiful their country is?

im from Mexico. Travelled to 52 countries including Switzerland, New Zealand, Iceland, Spain, Thailand, etc etc. The US is the one country where I couldn't stop "wowing" the most. Most beautiful country I've seen 😍

Been to 10 States and 11 national parks plus beaches and State parks.

Which states did you go to?

I think a lot of Americans take it for granite. I've been to every Western state, including Hawaii and Alaska, as well as a few states in the Mid-West and quite a few in the south. I would say 70% of our country is actually very ugly. Lots of fields and I remember traveling through the Mojave a few years ago and seeing the houses and it looked no different from northern Mexico. A lot of our cities are also ugly.

I will say THIS. I do think the U. S. has the most diverse geography in the world. Most of the beautiful stuff you're talking about is in the West. The U. S. has some very beautiful places indeed, but they're all concentrated in clusters.

If we're talking about countries that have the highest concentration of beautiful things per square mile, then countries like Switzerland, Norway, New Zealand and Georgia rank the highest.

I only really started traveling outside of the U. S. in 2011, but I have startes re-exploring the U. S. over the past few years. I've never denied its beauty, but I often take these things for granted and forget that while Americans dream of traveling to places like France, Italy, New Zealand, there are also many people who dream of coming to the U. S. to see our national parks.

Wow, that’s interesting to hear. I live here, and I sure love a lot of the natural scenery, but I’ve also seen videos of Switzerland, New Zealand, Iceland, places you’ve mentioned, and I’m like “Damn, these places BURY America for natural beauty.” Maybe I’m not going to the right places here at home, haha. In fairness, this place is WAY bigger than any of those places, so we have better odds of having beautiful natural landmarks, plus so many different kinds of biomes, so there’s variety. But we have some absolute eyesores too, in terms of populated areas, whereas I see Switzerland and I’m like “I’m pretty sure there’s not an ugly acre of land in this country.”

I’m American but I’ve also been to Switzerland and even Italy most recently and I can most definitely say to state that America is more beautiful than Switzerland is absolute bullshit. America has some pretty mountains but Switzerland is absolutely breathtaking even in their major cities. Looks absolutely unreal on all aspects.

I’ve driven across the country 3 times hun. I believe there’s a lot of beautiful places in USA but never been somewhere that looked as unreal as Switzerland. I mean some people prefer McDonald’s over a real burger so I guess your preference is your preference 🤣

Yes! I have seen some beautiful places, but the most breathtaking beautiful were in the U. S.

Yes, it is not called God's country for nothing. There are so many things in America that I want to see I have no real desire to go overseas. Maine to Florida all the way to California there is so much to see and do.

Red rocks is beautiful and Colorado mountains are just wow.
But then you go to Chicago and well it's like if England decided to get every chav put them in one place and give them guns.

We do have a lot of beautiful places here, it’s definitely diverse, and some people just haven’t traveled enough to realize that, i’ve been to 26 states and have seen quite a lot, i’ve also been to seven different countries, America has a lot of everything depending on where you go
