Yes, far northern California is pretty reasonable. It's beautiful and the climate is great.

Agreed. I live in SW Washington, Redding reminded a lot of home. Tons of beautiful trees and mountains.

Anyplace other than California. Besides, Duluth is right on Lake Superior, so boating would be easy and fun. Yes, I know Duluth winters can be harsh. That's why I'd move south for the winter... be a snowbird.

Redding is hot af in the summer, often reaching 115 F or better. Duluth is cold af in the winter.

But Redding is not too far from the mountains so I would go with that. Though that area has burned a lot the last few years.
