North Carolina for weather. Montana for everything else. I wouldn't even mind the weather in Montana, but I prefer a little more mild.
Before I retired I would have picked North Carolina because there are a lot more jobs there, especially tech jobs.

Tough one. I would probably say neither. Montana is too remote and too cold. North Carolina is too southern.

  It is to me. The last thing I want to hear is "Have you found a church home?" I knew a few people who moved to Nashville. They moved right back out after a year or two. Two of them are or were songwriters. Robbie Fulks wrote "F This Town". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7e9D9NcGis
