North Carolina for weather. Montana for everything else. I wouldn't even mind the weather in Montana, but I prefer a little more mild.
Before I retired I would have picked North Carolina because there are a lot more jobs there, especially tech jobs.
Tough one. I would probably say neither. Montana is too remote and too cold. North Carolina is too southern.
Southern is not a bad thing
It is to me. The last thing I want to hear is "Have you found a church home?" I knew a few people who moved to Nashville. They moved right back out after a year or two. Two of them are or were songwriters. Robbie Fulks wrote "F This Town". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7e9D9NcGis
Audrey Auld wrote "Nashville #1" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41tI5FG-mCc&t=34s
The third person was an acquaintance who took a tech job in Nashville. She returned to Dallas after a couple of years.
I just lived in nc for 5 years! It was great! I'd happily move back
I have lived in North Carolina, never again.
Why? Cause it’s southern?

I pick North Carolina because it is on the ocean
Probably North Carolina just because I hate cold weather and I feel l Montana is more remote or off the grid which some people like
North Carolina. I've shoveled enough snow for 10 lifetimes.
North Carolina has got more things to do nobody ever talks about Montana unless you’re going on summer vacation
to quote Brad Pitt in the movie A River Runs Through It, "I'll never leave Montana, brother".
I'm from NC so I chose that.
Me too, what part?
Beautiful Montana
