Yes, sometimes I try to hang out where the locals do and see how they live.

You'll usually find there's some type of industrial or business park out of sight a short drive away. Another thing to remember is in these type of places you can travel a long distance fairly quickly since there's less traffic and junctions plus its mostly fast roads so people will commute further distances
