Where do you think is the most ideal place for a holiday?

I haven't been on holiday for 29 years...

But we used to go to Austria, Switzerland and France a lot; I love those countries... and I love Paris and Vienna.

Would I ever get to travel again... I want to travel along the whole length and width of Africa; I may never leave again then. I feel particularly drawn to Nigeria and South Africa.

I feel drawn to Türkiye too... Love its history and culture.

(Same as Jamaica; as a Skinhead I will have to visit Jamaica... go to the roots of the Skinhead subculture)

Oh, and regarding Türkiye.

I do have some links to the country. I am Dutch, I live in the UK; but my ancestors have resided for 6 centuries in France and prior to that they resided in the 'Arminian Kingdom of Cilicia' which was in the present-day Turkish province of Adana. So that's definitely a region in Türkiye I want to visit.

No, sadly I haven't been to Türkiye yet.

And yes, I have spoken with someone else here on GaG who is from Adana province... He strongly recommended me to visit the province too.

Of course I want to visit some of the big cities in Türkiye, mainly Istanbul and Ankara... but other than that I would like to visit the somewhat more rural areas; the places tourists generally don't really go to; I want to meet Turks, and absorb the Turkish culture and Cuisine... not being surrounded by thousands of other West Europeans.

It's nice to hear this, I live in Kayseri, tourists come to ski in the winter months, but every region of Turkey is beautiful in its own way, who knows, maybe one day you will be my guest.

My parents plan more vacations than me cause I don't always want to join them when they go on vacation.

I have family visiting me next month so there will be days of gluttony ahead. They are from out of own so will stay more than one day so we can get the best deal for their airline flights here.

I get anxious on airplanes and trips to Europe always involve sleep deprivation and irregular sleeping cycles. It's also a hassle to eat at regular times cause my family is very picky about where they buy food and will delay and delay and delay until they find a place they like.

I understand, but it's still nice to relax, for example swimming in the sea, sunbathing on the beach. I can recommend Turkey.

We don't visit beaches or seas during our trips to Europe. We go to look at buildings and natural landscapes like hills and trails. Our beach trips are usually in Mexico cause it comes with all you can eat and drink buffet and bar food. I love Turkish food but my mother prefers European food.

I can say that there are many natural areas, mountains and hills in Turkey.

We have been to Turkey and we usually do not visit the same country twice. We make an exception for 10% of the places we visit such as multiple tripes to America or France but most of the time it is one trip per country.

As far as I understand, this is like a world tour, our doors are always open, we have a welcoming nature. 😊
