Never been a beach person
1 ySomething I like about the ocean shore (with or without a beach) are sunrises and subsets. When I lived on the west coast I went to a remote park on the ocean to watch the sunset 3-4 times a week. You can see the exact second when the sun disappears over the horizon. The seagulls standing on the shore would take off in flight at that instant. I think they watched the sunset again from higher up. I've done the same thing. If there are hills nearby, and you are fast, you can run up the hill and watch the sunset again.
As far as the beach itself, I'm not really into just hanging out at the beach. I do like walking along the beach though. But crowded ocean beaches with people laying on beach towels does nothing for me. I prefer forests, mountains, rivers, or deserts.
Well, during my partying days, beach parties with a beach fire were nice. For some reason, parties on a beach are good for all-nighters.Something I've wanted to do is watch the sunrise and sunset on the same day. Ideally from the same spot.

1 yIt just feels a very natural environment to be in, like you instinctively know that's where you as a species belong. It's that boundary world between land and sea where your safe from the dangers of both yet the rewards of each within east reach.
Dislike. Having to run like feck because the tides coming in and you don't want to get trapped over night.00 Reply
I'm not a beach person either. Give me a mountain or forest any day. A beach can be nice to look at. Especially if empty of people. But it's quite boring. I'm not a person to sit still sunbathing or reading a book. When I do go beach I usually end up digging a moat around a sandcastle or doing drawings in the sand with a stick.

1 yThe beach is the greatest place on earth. Sea level is just magical looking out at the horizon at any time of day or weather. The solitude of the beach when it's just the waves and the wind and you is transcendental. Or maybe it's just you and a book. Or you and your tunes. Or simply people watching and there's a lot of gorgeous people to watch! Nude beaches are even better because of the liberty you give yourself. The boardwalk is a pageant of humanity and the sights, sounds and smells are just amazing. I don't think I could ever live anywhere where there wasn't a beach particularly an ocean - a lake is simply not going to cut it
